and brandon brendan, who is also contributing from the streetscape design. jeff will be joining us and we talk about signalization. just a recap on the process that we have been going through, we were here in may to first introduce the sub phase to you. we have met with city agencies, all enter agency groups several times, and worked with the city accessibility coordinator several times as well. we had an opportunity to meet with the cabinet last week. the cab has seen the same updates that all of you have seen. we have some positive comments from them about the sailing centre, the bicycle coalition, a number of other stakeholders and constituents. we are incorporating all the feedback into this application, and as bob mentioned, will be submitting the application january 11th and with the intention of getting any comments and wrapping that up early in the spring. we are hoping to be moving forward into permanent -- permitting into the summer. the intention is we will get this approved and get going with them and move things forward. so this document that we

brandon feel they've been coerced into being american even though they're living in their native country. hawaiians are a mix of several nationalities who want the best from all of those schools here in hawaii. but brendan wants to do that without the united states and the seeking support this. you know by going out to the u.n. by having talks with other countries where establishing the formulation so we are acting as a country so what we're doing is just concentrating here in this making this exists you know and that's how we can take on more responsibility that's all we can bring in why and still. preserving hawaiian heritage they also are a known thing the rule of the u.s. they're trying to create a miniature model here for they grand vision. they want a diverse cosmopolitan but self-sufficient and as independent as possible. but brandon sometimes feels alone and his ethic i help my fellow hawaiian out there you know the house to keep their job and house to keep going to work and that one day that you know when we can actually provide them with a job we can leave that job and come work for us and the be doing it all together and and then i'll be so lonely. brandon trust's in the power of his ancestry

brandon kylie is a book about that conversation. and one thing they were doing was going around the country. brendan is white, jason is black, and having this conversation with young black and white kids. and it was really interesting for so many adults to hear what both white kids and black kids were saying about the state of our country right now and their own sense of safety. because what we see in the media in terms of so many black kids getting pummeled or shot or feeling unsafe around cops, there's something going on because these stories aren't getting made up. this in terms of white neighborhoods being more safe for black children, i don't know. i mean, again, i think if you're working with young people of color, i think it's worth it to have these conversations that are sometimes hard to have because young people speak the truth. and i think you will get a better sense of who you're dealing with. i think also it's really important to read the literature they're reading and have conversations with them around that, see the movies they're seeing and have conversations with them around that. i
