that victim spoke to nbc 10's brandon hudson about how the suspect climbed on to her balcony to invade her property. >> reporter: this man has put one temple student's life on edge. >> i got out of the shower to get changed and i saw a flash through my window. >> reporter: the 20-year-old woman didn't want to show her face but shared her story, she spotted a peeping tom outside her room sunday night. her boyfriend tried to chase the y away. >> i don't know who he is. i think it's just a fascination with girls in general. >> reporter: she said her peeping tom was able to get through this gate. since this incident we found out a leasing office has put in a new lock as a security measure. this happened off-campus, that's why the philly police are on the case. we checked out how similar crimes happened on or near campuses. only one harassment-type crime was reported off-campus last year compared to the 18 on campus. another student said she felt safe. police said the suspect appears to be 20 years old, 6'2" with long brown hair and 170 pounds. >> i do believe it's a student who's doing thi

brandon hudson is live. police say they were actually prepared for this night. they were ready. >> they were. police say with mall security this morning to discuss the plan because they say the same group of teenagers tried to start something at this mall yesterday. tonight action happened right at this entrance. the chief inspector says officers are ready, and only a fraction of the 200 kids got inside the mall. >> reporter: sky force 10 shows police arresting one of three teens around 6:45 this evening outside the mall. this was moments after officers stopped 200 young people between the ages of 14 and 16 from getting inside the building. this nbc 10 yoviewer's cell pho video -- police say 30 teens tried to start a fight inside. >> they started acting disorderly, running around yelling and screaming, and actually getting in physical altercations with security. one of the juveniles attempted to punch one of the uniformed police officers. >> we tracked down a witness who spoke anonymously because he is under 18. he said the mall was briefly on lockdown. >> i jus

nbc10's brandon hudson spoke to a relative and has the story. >> reporter: a very stressful christmas for the family of a 71-year-old woman and her 5-year-old great granddaughter. that older woman lives in this neighborhood here. her grandson says she always keeps her phone on her and calls wherever she is, but she hasn't called in the last few days. tonight nbc 10 got these photos of barbara briely and her great granddaughter la'myra. the two were last seen in a car barbara drove from may's landing to an exxon gas station in ruther glen, virginia, christmas eve. we spoke to her grandson, who told us about the family's last phone conversation with the 71-year-old. >> they spoke to her while she was in traffic, and then she said that she was lost. but she takes that route all the time. >> reporter: this man says a group of relatives drove south to search foretheir missing loved ones on kroil. they're looking for a toyota rav4 with the new jersey license place c 80 els. checking out a map it appears barbara and la'myra made it halfway through their strip. the last place they were seen w

nbc 10's brandon hudson reports. >> reporter: our nbc 10 camera wasn't allowed inside of the high school for the meeting but it was to discuss the numerous fights going on on campus, including some at this park across the street. this cell phone video shared with nbc 10 is one of the reasons frustrated parents want security changes at woodrow wilson high school. one of the students getting punched several time is janet rivera's 15-year-old son. we spoke to her through a translator. >> he was punched so hard that he lost consciousness for about an hour. >> reporter: here are photos of the aftermath. bruises and cuts over the student's eye. parents say the fights are common. >> kids that don't speak english well are targeted. >> that is correct. >> it led to a letter sent from the principal to parents who met with school staff and camden county police. the school district superintendent says they are in creasing security on and around campus. >> we were told that these attacks may appear racially motivated. >> we do understand that it is falling across racial and ethnic lines. >> reporter:

the teen's mom spoke to nbc10's brandon hudson at tonight's vigil. he's joining us live at philadelphia police headquarters with the latest on this shooting. >> reporter: jim, we came here to headquarters to get the latest on this homicide. so far police have no arrests at this time. the 14-year-old's mother says she knows who killed her son and is urging them to turn themselves in. >> he was very tight with me. >> reporter: days after ian was shot and killed, the pain is still raw for his mother, kelly. surrounded by family and friends, kelly spoke to nbc10 before a vigil for her son in mayfair. a tragic loss weeks before christmas. kelly says her 14-year-old son was a popular student at northeast high school. >> he smiled a lot. very well liked, played a lot of football and sports. loved rap music. >> reporter: philadelphia police say on monday night, someone shot and killed ian while trying to rob him. it happened on brous avenue. >> your child doesn't have to be into anything to get shot and killed anymore. it's just happening. >> reporter: trish

reporting live in north philly, i'm brandon hudson, nbc10 news. >>> turning to our weather now, heavy rain falling. this video shows some ponding along city avenue. the rain still coming down heavily in parts of our area right now. >> sheena parveen is tracking how long it will last in your neighborhood. sheena. >> we still have more rain as we go overnight tonight. so it is n parts of northern new castle wi seeing almost an inch and a half an hour with some of the heavier rain. what you're seeing with the yellows and oranges, that is the heaviest of the rain. the green is showing us the lightest of the rainfall. delaware county, phoenixville, norristown, franconia right across 476 and 76, all these areas through montgomery and bucks counties, especially upper bucks county near richland and even through the lehigh valley seeing that heavier rain right now. that's going to continue sliding through the area, eventually moving into parts of new jersey. then we have this area of rain. that's also going to move through as we go overnight tonight. so here is what future weather looks like.

brandon hudson has the story. >> reporter: a city council man and local firefighters say by keeping firey are asking for $300,000 to do it. tonight, wilmington fire engine six is in use after an outcry from firefighters. the engine was taken out of service on certain days last monday to save overtime costs. the controversial program is known as a rolling bypass. city councilman robert williams is appealing to the state to reel it in. >> we are asking to stop the conditional closure. >> reporter: he says they hope to get $300,000 sent by next month while the city transitions to a new mayoral administration. williams told nbc 10 he people he represents want to see the fire engine available at all times. >> they are honestly scared for their safety. the night these three firefighters died in a fire, the same engine was in bypass that evening. >> reporter: engine six was shut down the morning of a devastating september row home fire which led to the deaths of three firefighters. one of the victims, fire captain christopher leech was assigned to engine six. >> my family is directly affected b
