nbc 10's brandon hudson taking a closer look at that tonight. >> our team coverage begins with denise. you have looked over this entire lengthy indictment. >> yes. all 50 pages. it details how the d.a. allegedly went above the law to line his own pocket books even at the expense of a family member in a nursing home. >> philadelphia's top prosecutor seth williams is about to face the trial of his career. that of his own criminal case where a federal investigator says he used his office to commit bribery, fraud, and extortion. >> mr. williams simply took money that did not belong to him. then he lied about it. >> a federal grand jury handed down a 23 count indictment. it states that williams offered to help two business owners in exchange for money and gifts. according to the indictment business owner number one bought williams a $6,300 trip to punta cana and gave hem a $7,000 check, $2,000 in cash, an ipad. a louis vuitton tie and burberry watch and purse. in exchange, the prosecutors say williams offered to help him bypass security at philadelphia international airport as well as help

brandon hudson is there opportunity. >> reporter: a witness was on the other side of this bridge when he heard the gunshots and he saw several dozen people running for safety. police say the shots came from the fifth floor of this building. the shooter was aiming at the parking lot across the street nearly hitting a woman as she got into her car. the investigation, far from over, a day after a gunman fired several shots into the parking lot of delilah's, causing panic in this neighborhood. our nbc 10 camera was there as police towed two vehicles from the gentleman's club. a white truck was hit by two bullets that was fired from a gunman in a construction building across the street. >> pop sounds. and people just started running. >> reporter: nick says he ran after hearing the gunshots. so did a few dozen others. >> people just running. kids in their hands trying to get away from the sound. >> reporter: the shooting forced police to shut down spring garden, i-95 and the closest septa train stop. >> that's pretty intense that people have got to that level and someone can get a weapon li

brandon hudson joins us live from the scene in eastwick. brandon. >> reporter: well, denise, police say the driver who was in a white car crashed into a light pole which is about 150 yards from where we're standing over on the left side before stopping a few feet away. you see the white car on the right side. police say both victims were in that white car when they were shot. the 14-year-old was shot in the face here on 81st street. our video gives you a closer look at that damaged car. philadelphia police say this happened just before 2:30. in addition to the bullet holes, the car suffered significant front end damage. the victim in his 20s died from his gunshot wound. shortly after this happened, we spoke to a woman who lives in this neighborhood. >> it's sad. it's ealey sad. it is sad. it's mortifying. mortifying. >> what is the neighborhood like? >> what is this neighborhood like? >> yes, ma'am. >> it's a forgotten neighborhood. it's a forgotten neighborhood. this was a very viable neighborhood. i was raised in this neighborhood. >> we j

brandon hudson is live in reading tonight. driving there won't be easy any time soon. >> reporter: no, it won't be, jacqueline and jim, especially fot with this thick packed snow. you can see it comes well past my ankle. i want to take you across the street. you can see some of these cars are still buried in the show. it's going to take a while for some of these cars and some of these people to get these cars out of there. we're on north sixth street out here in reading. the crews are working on these side streets this evening. we just got a few more flakes in the last half hour, but i can tell you around lunchtime today we were a little hesitant to drive down these streets. with so many cars buried in snow, we saw a few guys getting around on two wheels. how it is driving this in snow? >> bad. it goes everywhere. >> reporter: he rode his motor bike just as the final flakes hit the ground. the winter storm dumped enough snow to keep neighbors busy shoveling sidewalks and cars. >> it's cold, but you know, i got to do it. >> rep

. >> brandon hudson is joining us live from camden with the latest on this terrible crash. brandon? >> reporter: jim and jacqueline, in the last 50 minutes, we spoke to a witness who said the impact was so big, he could feel it in the building he was standing in. it shook the building. you can see white horse pike, this part right here, in fact open tonight, but you can see some of the sand used to clean up this large accident. for the most part, this wreck shut down part of white horse pike. it injured several people, injured one person who was involved. i want you to check out some video. at least five cars involved in this accident. police and firefighters rescued several people who were trapped. we're told five people went to the hospital. moments after we got here, we spoke to a witness who heard the crash from a nearby business. >> i heard the biggest boom. it was like a grenade launching that went off. and it surprised me. you could feel the tremor for miles. it was crazy. one car sitting on top of another car. >> it's just a sad situation. it's real sad when you come on to s

brandon hudson joins us. >> you can almost hear the cheers from drivers. this opened several weeks ahead of schedule. >> reporter: a lot of happy drivers, jim and jacqueline. a lot of them coming off the eastbound lanes of this bridge. this bridge was supposed to open in april. you can see some of these signs are still here to warn people about these ramps. you can see some trucks, you may see some cars coming in from the eastbound lanes. most people we spoke to tonight, they're happy about this news. but we met one person who didn't mind this being closed. as turnpike crews replaced signs in the delaware river bridge entrance, we met someone who didn't mind it being closed. he's a pizza delivery man. he could make deliveries faster. when they reopen the bridge, how long will it take? >> it might take 20 minutes. on a friday night, forget it. >> reporter: he knows he's in the minority. but he's happy for the inconvenienced drivers who can use the bridge again. >> i can make it to pennsylvania in seven minutes where i go if i jump on the turnpike. >> report

. >> brandon hudson has details on the shooting tonight. when we first heard school bus hit this afternoon, we pictured full of students. fortunately, that wasn't the case. >> reporter: it wasn't the case. there were three people on board the bus. tonight police looking at surveillance video to get leads in this case. a chief inspector told me it's amazing 42 shots were fired and no one seriously hurt. the eight bullet holes and shattered glass from the bus tell the story of a ride three women won't forget. philadelphia police say the bus was caught in the crossfire of four men who fired 42 shots at the intersection of north 19th street. two adults and a 1-year-old were on board. >> all three of those females luckily and fir callusly were not injured. >> reporter: they say this bus was hit about the three blocks down the street but the driver kept going. you can see the trail of shattered glass leading up to the door where the driver was sitting. >> detectives found three projectiles inside of the bus. >> reporter: while the women walked aw

he spoke only to nbc 10's brandon hudson who is live in newark tonight. how did this plan work? >> that escape plan involved hitting a buzzer inside one of these apartments common areas. the victim's boyfriend said she followed the plan perfectly which scared the suspect off. >> she whispered to me, this guy is trying to rob me. >> those are the words she said to her -- she tried to escape a serial kidnapper. she says she found the suspect hiding in a common area at the preserve at deacon's walk apartments. with a gun to her head, he told her he was robbing her and made her go to her apartment, but the victim made a smart move hitting the buzzer for an apartment with her elbow. >> i flung the door open all the way. he had already realized someone else was home. >> the woman eights boyfriend said they came up with the safety plan after the second kidnapping at an apartment in wilmington two weeks ago. last night it worked to perfection. >> seies the arrow. she did everything the best she could. she couldn't have did anything different, and i'm proud of her, and i love her. >> the
