. >> brandon hudson has been following the story and is live at the hospital where the boy is in critical condition tonight. >> reporter: new tonight we found out this child is a kin r kindergartener. and his teachers are with the family across the street. a 6-year-old boy and his mother are injured in a double shooting at the intersections of spruce and east 6th streets. >> did you hear the gunshots? >> yes, seven times. >> reporter: turner who has lived here most of her life saw the 6-year-old after he was hit. >> he was bleeding. >> reporter: police say the boy's 31-year-old mother was hit in the left arm. officers searched a white suv riddled with bullet holes. the owner of this car showed us the damage. >> hit the metal of the door and the force of the bullet was so strong it cracked the window. >> reporter: the police found several shell casings. the shooting steps from a park and not far from a church and school. >> i am angry. i am hurt. and i want the people who did this to come forward or to be caught. >> reporter: the principal at the child's school said counsellors will be on

as brandon hudson explains, coaches and parents are scrambling to make sure the kids can still play. >> tried to steal helmets and bags and so forth. >> reporter: this shows the aftermath of a break-in at a storage shed. broken doors, windows, and a mess on the ground. >> and it's pure destruction. >> reporter: police say the thieves stole shoulder pads and helmets belonging to a local team. the chester township cougars and the cheer squad. >> we have kids that may not be able to have the helmets at the start of the season the year. >> a lot of them come from rough situations, so we give them an outlet. it's like somebody decided to take the outlet away from them. >> reporter: as you can see in the video, the thieves didn't get away with all the equipment. some was left behind on the ground. coaches say they recovered a few helmets and pads in neighbor's yards, but not all of it is usable. news of the crime has players upset. >> people are just going to take our step, and that's not tough. y'all are letting the team down and all the parents that paid for their child to play. >> repor

brandon hudson joins us live in west philadelphia tonight, police believe these same burglars have hit the homes of other business owners as well. >> reporter: that's right. detectives in southwest philly say they're very calculated and they stole electronics and clothing and police believe the small business owners are being targeted because the suspects believe they keep money inside their homes. this is just one of four burglaries police believe these two men, possibly brothers committed last month and all of the victims are asian business owners in philly and delaware county, and this one happened above the house of chees grocery store in west philadelphia last saturday afternoon. >> going through every piece including cutting mattresses and they knew exactly what they were looking for. >> they were definitely calculated. >> these suspects thought they got rid of the surveillance video during the burglary and it was saved on an internet-based camera, and two of the other crimes happened early last month. >> and one in prospect park on the fifth of may and one on the tenth of may wh

nbc 10's brandon hudson spoke with the man's mother tonight.she believes police went too far. >> reporter: this video clip shows two millville police officers forcibly restrain and punch barry while arresting him. a confrontation that escalated after the officers accused him of jaywalking. >> tell me when it's against the law to jaywalk in a residential area. >> reporter: she believes the officers were out of line. the police chief said the use of force was necessary. >> i don't have a problem with you doing your job, but you don't have to beat people to a pulp. >> reporter: she said her son was walking to the store. in a phone interview, millville police chief told us that 34-year-old wouldn't cooperate with the officers and walked away. the chief says cotton became combative with the officers after being charged with obstruction of justice. the video shows police had cotton down in this part of the sidewalk. now his mother is looking for other video that shows what led up to this confrontation. he was later arrested for an unrelated child sup

brandon hudson is live for us on the ground. let's talk about this cleanup that's underway. >> reporter: crews are cleaning up here on tyson avenue just behind me in the last half hour we met meredith, she's a homeowner impacted by this water main break. she came home around 4:00 and found water rushing down her driveway here and then we'll take you around the corner where you can see all the mud, the water ended up here right outside of her z-ba raj. she had an inch of water out here and five to ten gallons in that basement. she shared this cell phone video. you can see the water flowing down her driveway. the crazy thing about this is, she just moved here three weeks ago now she has to worry about cleaning up. skyforce10 was over the scene here in abington earlier this afternoon around 3:00. we found out about this water main break. we found that happened on edge hill road. we found out edge hill road remains closed, about 85 residents will be without water for the next 24 hours. they are bringing are in a tank of water for th

let's bring in brandon hudson who is with me live in norristown tonight. cosby was pretty quiet tonight despite all this waiting. >> he was very quiet as he walked out. the jury went home a half hour earlier than the past two nights but they focused on the testimony of andrea constand and a chelting ham police detective. another night without a verdict as fans chanted cosby's signature phrase, cosby didn't respond to them or any questions. >> any more confident? >> reporter: cosby's spokesman says that the comedian remains up beat. >> he is taking it one stride at a time and staying focused and is in good spirits. fwlrt the jury asked two questions, one focused on the testimony of the police who says that cosby gave her allergy medicine to relax. the jury listened to constand's testimony again. constand was in the courtroom with her mother but they showed no emotion. >> i think these are intelligent jurors and they want to be knowing they made the rightn says that he has a the jury has now the last three ays and will leaving the courthousehank tigs. after

nbc 10's brandon hudson's been out with the spectators. supporting bill cosby, others wanting to see him convicted. brandon. >> reporter: well, jim, it's a lot quieter outside the court house, a contrast to how it was little more than an hour ago. the best chance to see him was the line up outside the court house. but tonight we talked to a family who went inside and spoke to the comedian for a few minutes. a loud cheer for bill cosby after he went home for another day of jury indecision. >> this case should have been closed a long time ago. what else do they want from him? i say free my uncle billy. >> reporter: hours earlier the jury announced they were deadlocked. that led to confrontation outside the court house. a couple of cosby's accusers said the announcement made them feel sick. >> i felt my heart in my throat and then a feeling of numbness over came me. >> what is the value of a woman in today's society if it this is rape culture and it cannot be dismessed? >> reporter: cooler heads prevailed. we spoke to a family who got to visi

nbc 10's brandon hudson is joining us live with more. another student caught him red handed? >> reporter: that student saw the teacher try to use the camera up a student's skirt. investigators found out the teacher hid the camera in a box of coconut water. police charged him with using a hidden camera to shoot up at least three students' skirts. he taught chemistry. a student caught howell in the act. >> my friend was telling us about his teacher that was doing this and asking us whether or not he should report him. we all said he should report him. >> reporter: howell hid his camera in a coconut water box and put it in his briefcase. >> my friend not letting anything go on that long, i was proud of him. >> reporter: investigators uncovered several digital storage devices at howell's home in maple shade. it's the same complex where this girl lives. >> i wouldn't have expected this. it hits really close to home. >> reporter: howell used the camera at a convenience store. he is now at burlington county jail and will be arraigned tomorrow. >>> new video now shows the traffic sto

brandon hudson has a look at the damage in this neighborhood. this is no easy clean up. >> reporter: no it's not, jim, the crews behind me are digging up the ground working on the water main. this hole is about 5 feet deep and 20 to 25 feet wide. the crews out here say the water came up from here and rushed downhill towards tyson avenue that way and caused a lot of that frustration. sky force 10 captured what looks like a waterfall in a neighborhood. thousands of gallons of water rushing into this backyard. >> i heard a wooshing sound and my wife was on the couch and i got up and we could see the wave coming down the backyard. >> reporter: he showed us where the water left its mark. his fence a good indicator of how high the water reached. his neighbor had problems. >> it came in through the walls and right into the backyard. casey shared this video with nbc 10, a cascade down her driveway. she had at least five gallons in her home which she just moved into three weeks ago. >> we're told by aqua officials to restore the water would be about 24 h
