. >> that jewelrymart is located at 888 brannan. not far from rei. it's just around the corner from police headquarters. the specific store inside where this happened is called vic toga. noelle walker joins us from outside that jewelrymart now with the latest on this investigation. >> reporter: we're at the corner of 7th and bryant. about -- 7th and brannan. about 20 minutes ago the police chief updated the media. let's take a look at what's going on behind me. it's still an active scene. we've seen s.w.a.t. packing up their stuff. what i've also seen is occasionally along the sidewalk we'll see police escorting people from the jewelrymart building. we're told there are still 75 people left to evacuate. here's what we know. one lone gunman. two women are dead at that vic toga. they were either shot or stabbed. police are not sure which one. they have recovered both a revolver and a knife. one man was injured at that store. the suspect is in custody after running out of the building. police report seeing him covered in blood. the suspect fired shots a

that door we're seeing activity at triple 8 brannan. there are police officers coming out. probably about 20 minutes ago i talked with construction workers down on the level where this happened. the picture basically illustrates the scene down there on the level where this shooting happened. you can sigh in the distance there are police officers. that is the crime scene. there is some bullet casings on the floor. i can tell you immediately after the shooting construction workers ducked for cover then heard five more shots. then heard a bit of commotion after that. the suspect ran up. this is the basement level we're talking about here. the suspect ran out of the basement and out of the building. and was taken into custody.
