"the communicators" is on site here doing interviews, looking at the most recent technology and talking with policymakers. up next, we interviewed the chairman of the board of mercedes benz about some of the technology used in their cars. dieter zetsche is the chairman of daimler which is the parent company of mercedes benz, and he joins "the communicators" here at the consumer electronics show in las vegas. what's the technology that you're introducing? >> guest: well, the show here, the lawsuitest of connective -- the latest of connectivity of in the car. we have with on one hand the future direction we will take with so-called -- [inaudible] that show how you can interact with your car, all the different aspects of connectivity

governor branstad?>> i would just add i'm really honored and proud to be part of a group of governors that has had a chance to play a role here in this very important deutsch will force mission, and we -- i think the comment has already been made about the importance of the national guard to our states, and especially important to the air national guard, and i am really pleased to see the governors and the generals all coming together with a statement about how critically important it is that we not diminish the very important role that the air national guard place not just as part of our national events the could defense but the plaintiff state level as well so we think you for that and i am pleased to be here. >> thank you very much. we are also joined by governor been lee from alabama and abercrombie from hawaii. let me introduce general craig mckinley, who is the chief of the national guard bureau and in that role as chief and member of the joint chiefs of staff general mckinley serve as a military

governor branstad, governor fallon, governor perry in texas. these are all republicans and they are all wanting the development of wind. so this is not necessarily a wind versus natural gas story. this is an economic development story in the middle part of the country. i want to commend these gentlemen for their research. their research poses a lot of good questions. i don't think they are answered in the right way. in the most part. so i'm going to go through that pretty quickly. i think mr. cons dine's research except the cost is not $300 megawatts an hour. th that skews the sbentire picture he's trying to portray here. we're seeing electricity prices 3 megawatts an hour. that's a far cry. we have to get real data. ei data is a love-hate relationship. you use it when you like it. when you don't you still use it. but you know, you get what you get. the fact of the matter is, there have been dramatic changes in the price of wind in the last two or three years. it has come down. it has not gone up. if you look at the price of natural gas and win
