hi i'm brenda buttner. this is "bulls and bears." here are our bulls and bears this week. welcome to everybody. john, you say keep them locked up for the sake of our safety and economy, why? >> yes. you look at the call to what happened if these guys go back to the battlefield. we had prison in southern iraq. once that was closed and those guys were released that created the leadership of isis. we have about 122 guys right now in guantanamo bay. about 54 considered low risk. you say there's only 68 what can 68 do? what did those prisoners do that left camp boka in southern iraq? it is costing economies a lot of money. don't tell me they've been down there, think are out of touch. nelson mandela was in prison 27 years. for the good of the world, made an incredible impact once he got out. these guys in prison like this, they can go right back into leadership roles. we've seen it before. i don't know why the president wants so badly to shut guantanamo so bad they will go back to the battlefield. >> there is argument there is benefit to release them and track them and be able

fox news senior business correspondent brenda buttner has more. >> harris, strike.rican oil workers fired up for the first large-scale walkout in a quarter century as the united steelworkers union fails to reach an agreement with shell, which represents oil companies. this no deal is a big deal. it represents workers at 200 oil refinery chemical plants, pipelines and terminals. a full walkout could mean trouble for as much as two-thirds of u.s. fuel production. the union want months are pay and stronger rules on worker fatigue and other things more jobs, too. so as is often the case, politics probably plays here too. the keystone pipeline will likely not be built any time soon. >> what the unions are calling for is more jobs and more job security. so when the house passed keystone pipeline and the senate passed keystone pipeline in a bipartisan way and the president issues a veto threat, that's what these folks are upset about. they're upset with an administration that doesn't recognize that more energy and more jobs for this country are good things. >> the union do

hi, everyone i'm brenda buttner. this is "bulls and bears." here they are. welcome to everybody. releasing prisoners from gitmo putting our lives and livelihoods at risk? >> yes. there is precedent for this the president is an ideologue. when you talk about closing guantanamo bay that is a problem. these five prisoners released reached out to the taliban and will be on the battlefield when the year is up in qatar. when prisoners were released from there that created the leadership of isis. what harm has isis caused? what are you going to do with the prisoners down there? what if you capture more prisoners on the battlefield? i don't think guantanamo bay is the best place to have this prison? there is not a supermax prison to help local communities. there is no plan here. it's another 30,000 proof idea. this one can cost american lives. >> first of all there is a supermax facility in colorado that is currently housing one of the transferred prisoners from guantanamo, so we actually do have a facility. the reason they are not being transferred because transfers are being stopped by

hi, i'm brenda buttner. this is "bulls and bears." here they are. welcome to everybody. if this won't get washington into securing the border, what will? >> i'm not sure anything will. as much as it exasperates everybody, but every president since reagan said they would obama. none has done so. the time to deal with lung cancer is when you start smoking. we had rumors of isis coming across that southern border. you can't go across the texas border into mexico, it's not safe. it's being run by criminal organizations. they'll sneak whatever they are paid to to get into this country. we need to do this. not because of illegal immigration. that is a complete separate issue. simply for the safety of our other country. take our army. mexico secures its southern border with its own army. think of our army securing the afghan/pakistan border, put them on our border. we have to use them. >> they are terrific. there was an estimate it would take 76,000 troops to secure the border. gary b., it's a hefty price tag. is it worth it? >> i don't think so. if we are talking about securin

brenda buttner is here. she is senior business correspondsent and anchor of bulls and bear. she has the latest. first of all we've been enjoying these great gas prices. now are we going to start feeling the pinch at the pump as a result of this. >> some people already in. in california gas prices are higher. they rely on in-state refineries, many of which are hurt by this strike. and there are pockets of the country where there are refineries targeted by the strike. they will feel it again. already, in just one month, gas prices have gone up 20 cents. and this could just get worse because right now the refineries are in what's called a maintenance period. so they are not producing as much. but as we move into the summer, we usually expect to see more supply. and if the strike goes on, that's going to cripple that. >> that's -- so this whole situation is serious. i mean, i want you to talk a little bit more about the overall impact. it's my understanding that they are having this stalemate, because according to strikers the industry has refused to meaningfully address safety
