good morning to you, brent. the department of energy is predicting that my summertime the price for a gallon of gas will be 40% higher than it was last summer of 2010. you can see that appears to be the case here in santa clara at this gas station. there you go. an average gallon of gas will run you $4.39, $4.49 if you're paying credit. you can find gas cheaper if you're shopping around. these are latest averages from aaa that shows a gallon of gas in san francisco is $4.22, $4.19 here in san jose, $4.17 in oakland. if you look at the graphic, you can see how the prices compare to a year ago. each city is well up over a dollar on average. there's a couple of reasons for this spike. you've got seasonal gas blends and some refinery problems, but perhaps more significant is the unrest in the middle east. investors have been afraid and uncertain about the violent protests and fighting in that part of the world, especially in libya, where rebels have been battling to take over the government, nato has been involved b
