as brett forrest says, mgm is turning to the fbi to figure out who is behind it all. >> this has to becosting mgm millions of dollars. >> reporter: on sunday, systems that mgm began shutting down including the company website and more. >> it got worse and worse until we had no access at the end of the day. >> reporter: we agreed to grant them anonymity to speak freely. >> more and more people lost access to everything. just throughout the day it was like oh, phone lines are down. scheduling is down. now workday is down. not everything is down. >> reporter: mgm simply called it a cybersecurity issue affecting some of their systems, saying that they alerted law enforcement and began shutting down systems to protect data. >> like any system, the weakest link can bring the whole thing down. all it takes is for one employee to click on a link. >> reporter: mgm is said to have a top security team, but this incident exposes continued vulnerabilities. >> this is something that will continue. as technology gets better and faster and more sophisticated, actors will find these ways as well. >> re
