sheriff wayne ivey of brevard county, florida, joins us right now.post that tape? >> you know, we put a lot of emphasis on crime prevention, and constantly putting out messaging to our citizens, so this was just in furtherance of it. a message to our citizens to tell them to be prepared, to tell them what they can do in the event of a terrorist attack, or an active shooter. and it was a call to attention for our citizens to say you're the first line of defense in an active shooter scenario. >> and the scenario is and we just went over this in the break a little bit, the response time for the san bernardino law enforcement was incredible, four minutes. but guess what? 14 were dead and 20 were wounded in that same time. so you essentially are saying people, to a degree, you're on your own. >> well, what we're saying is that the best law enforcement agencies in the country have response times in minutes and a violent criminal can take their life in seconds. so it's a known fact that the only thing that stops a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun
