holiday travel, bria? bria: tim and jenna, thanksgiving is just a day away and with recently lowered gas prices, a lot of people have already hit the road. northwest iowa has received winter weather advisories for tomorrow so according to iowa state trooper john farley, it's in the best interest of drivers to take extra procaution when trying to get to their destination. thanksgiving is known as the day for turkey as well as traffic. iowa state trooper john farley says that there is usually a spike in accidents during the holiday season and so far there have been over 275 fatalities in the state of iowa for this year..a number that he says the state doesn't want to increase. "we never want to see that fatality count go up and it takes everybody. obviously it takes law enforcement through education and enforcemenen actions, but it takes drivers too to make sure that they're really concentrating on those defensive driving skills," said farley. iowa state troopers will have more troopers present and active on

"i was inside with my children and i just heard someone pounding on my door and i came out and the mother of my baby broke my front door window asking for help," said cristal santiago who lives across the street from the fire scene. sioux city fire crews were called to the 1400 block of center street at 11:25 late last night. neighbors reported hearing a man and woman screaming for help because a child was inside a burning house. according to an official report from the sioux city fire rescue department, the fire was so strong that crews had to attack the male victim was found inside the living room of the one story home.
