recently, police said they had a suspect in the disappearance of clark honda. ktvu's brian our newsroom now with reaction from the family and the community about all of this. brian. >> reporter: dave, at the time it definitely shook the community of fairfield. no doubt the boy's family as well. yesterday the police announced a man serving in jail is the person allegedly responsible for the kidnapping and killing of the boy known to his family and friends as toshie. >> still in explanation why this particular boy was the target in the first place. >> reporter: that was our headline on our newscast in 1984. at the time clark honda was living with his mother. it was on august 22, 1984, when he went missing. the window to the home was open and there was a ransom note inside. years went by. the father and mother divorced. they held out hope that clark was still alive. even re-creating what he might look like years later. police announced that a family friend, already serving time for child molestation charges, is the man responsible for killing and kidnapping clark toshera honda

clark. >>> good morning, i am pam cook. we will go to the breaking news on 880 in these pay, several crashes blocking lanes in both directions, and brian out there to give us an update. >> reporter: are currently standing on the southbound 880, talking about the traffic, and this is south of the alvarado niles road. chp remains at the scene, and this is the second big rig that got into an accident near the center divide. and we are here with the chp and good morning, it's a mess, and what can you tell us in terms of details? >> earlier this morning, 4:30 am, we got it call about the big rig blocking the lane due to mechanical issues. the many -- minivan ran into the rear of the vehicle, and two people in the car were taken to the hospital for moderate injuries. while investigating the northbound collision, traffic was slowing heavy southbound with people looking over. and the vehicle cut off the big rig that we see here on the center divide. the big rig itself attempted to avoid the collision by moving to the left, and subsequently hit the center divide. the vehicle came to rest on top of the center divide. five vehicles were involved
