ktvu's brian flores is here to tell us the teen recently moved to the bay area from central asia. brian? >> reporter: hi, dave. well, the student moved here from uzbekistan just a couple of years ago. the family said they wanted a better life. it was a life cut short just weeks before summer vacation was supposed to begin. he was a junior at the high school. he was part of two groups as well. one of them was english as a second group and the wrestling team. he was also the champion in his wrestling weight class. he was rushed to john muir medical center here in walnut creek. he was stabilized and had brain surgery. he was -- he was stabilized for a week. he died frommer repairable brain damage. his wrestling coach also describes him as the glue that kept the team together. he was then laid to rest on wednesday. right now, friends and family are planning some type of community memorial. there's also a memorial for him on facebook. we also understand that if you do want to contribute to the memorial fund, go to any chase bank. they are taking funds at the high school as well. coming

ktvu's ktvu brian flores with the new information just released. good afternoon. >> reporter: good afternoon. engineers were hoping that traffic just like this would be going on to the new bay bridge by the labor day weekend. for now technically those plans are in place but it's dependent on whether a contractor working on the bolt fix can get it done by then but they say they can't commit to the date at this time. caltrans officials this morning decided on a steel saddle fix to the broken bolts which would essentially strengthen them during everyday use and during a natural disaster. they were made around 2008 and showed signs of hydrogen corrosion when installed in march. engineers also reveal like the bolts similar to the ones in question were used on the san rafael bridge but say those bolts are safe. they say the cost to fix it would be $5 million to $10 million and th alternative would have been up to $20 million. they also say they are testing newer bolts like the ones in 2010 that were installed and say so far those are holding up. >> you t
