reporter brian hickey joins us live from donner summit where even though it's spring, the mountains are starting to look like a winter wonderland. good morning, brian. >> reporter: good morning, tori. up here on donner summit. the snow coming down. it started about 4 a. 30. in the last hour or two, we've seen a steadily snowfall. that's turn things into white. we talked to the superintendent of the caltrans area up here in the sierra saying they are 20, 30 minutes out from having chain controls under the present conditions. the highways are open. if you are watching this to the bay area, by the time you get to the bay area, the chain controls should be in effect with a heavy band of moisture moving its way up to the moisture. great news for the drought. they are expecting up to two feet of snow at the highest elevations at the top of some of those resorts. here at pass levels, could see about a foot of snow. again, great news for the mountains. we're looking across it. boreal. some ski resorts have shut down. boreal was making snow. they operate a summer camp. i imagine they are trying
