someone captured an image on a deer cam, very early resembled brian laundrie.s went out and searched nearby farms. could find no sign of the individual and they say brian laundrie has no ties to anyone in that area. so this may have been a false sighting. but it shows you how this investigation has been ramping up since sunday's discovery of a body presumed to be gabby's in wyoming. we await the release of an autopsy report from the teton county coroner to confirmed the identity and cause of death. here in florida, they're hoping evidence seized will tell them what the laundrie family will not. the evidence includes the mother's ford mustang that brian abandoned at the nearby nature preserve. the parents retrieved it in the middle of last week before reporting their son missing late friday. neighbors explain the family's silence. >> i think he was protecting their son. but i think they just took it too far. >> earlier search warrant for evidence in gabby's camper van reners to the couple's august's argument in moab utah that required police intervention. fox ne

the big one being where is brian laundrie? let's back up for a minute to talk about how we got here. remember, over the weekend there was quite a search in a 25,000-acre wildlife reserve because the parents of brian laundrie told police that they hadn't seen him since tuesday saying that the last time they saw him, they claim he had a hiking backpack on and he was heading over to that reserve for a hike. that claim was made to police on friday, so that's what set off that search for brian laundrie after days that his family claimed they haven't seen him and they were concerned about his well-being and his whereabouts. but another big thing happened over the weekend. you mentioned it, ana, sunday. we heard from fbi in wyoming saying that they had been searching up there for gabby petito, and then we learned from the coroner in the area that they found a body with characteristics that were consistent with gabby petito, the family also being notified and now asking for privacy. so quite a bit of developments almost daily here wit

meanwhile, police in florida still searching for brian laundrie. in wyoming, retracing some of their steps. >> on august 29th, my boyfriend and i picked up brian at grand teton national park at 5:30 at night. i'm hoping this can help someone identify him. >> reporter: that's miranda baker, sharing her story about how she believes she and her boyfriend picked up gabby petito's fiance, brian laundrie, when he was hitchhiking. >> we picked him up at 5:30. he approached us, asking us for a ride because he needed to go to jackson, which we were going to jackson that night. i said hop in. he hops in the back of my jeep. we then proceeded to make small talk. >> reporter: she said the chance encounter happened on august 29th, five days afghany last facetimed her family. she says brefore he got in the jeep, he offered $200 for the ride and offered this explanation for what he was doing out there on his own. >> he said he's been catching for multiple days without his fiance. he did say he had a fiance, and she was working on their social media page. >> report

there have been a lot of questions about where and what brian laundrie was doing. , as has been confirmed through registration at a campsite, roberta laundrie, her husband and son brian all went to this campground about 75 miles north of their home. they had a waterfront site at the fort desoto campground from september 6th through september 8th. we also noted that the lawyer for the family confirms brian was there with his parents during that period of time and they left together. we don't know if this gives any extra clues as to where brian laundrie is now. we also heard from gabby's mother and stepfather, father and stepmother, a group of four, they talked about co-parenting. they thanked media and law enforcement and thanked the outpouring of support that they've gotten from all over the world. they wouldn't answer a lot of questions about having to do with the investigation, for instance, their interactions with the laundrie family. here is what their lawyer said. >> the laundries did not help us find gabby. they're sure not going to help us find brian. for bri
