brian moore live in washington, d.c.ou got done listening to the chief economist talking about this? >> the word from him is that we are clearly headed in the right direction. his take is that december was the best and wrapped up the best quarter in four years and the best year in four years. the bottom line is economists had been expecting more jobs to have been added in december. about 150,000 jobs that turned out to be 103,000 jobs. it was enough to drive the unemployment rate down to 9.4%, the best in 19 months. there is a trick number in here. it went down not only because people were looking for jobs, but people were looking for jobs and gave up. that helped bring that unemployment rate down lower than was even expected. the bottom line said the white house said any movement forward is good movement. that's what john boehner said. any signs of job growth are encouraging, but he said it's just not enough. the congress has to do more. >> a lot of people would like to see it. thank you very much. >> time now is 6:55.
