i'm brian shrader. >> i'm renee ou. investigators are trying to figure out how eight harnett county inmates got their hands on illegal drugs inside a correctional facility. the inmates were hospitalized after an overdose on what is believed to be the drug, though. is said to be a synthetic marijuana. the inmates began getting sick friday afternoon and several their rooms. by saturday night, and had gone out to hospitals. after last time, three are still in the hospital. >>> some people in selma and kenly are concerned about place to build a rail terminal . the carolina connector station would connect eastern north carolina directly with the csx rail network. it'll be a big transportation hub in the south and could create thousands of jobs. trent lassiter owns the farm which is an entertainment venue in selma and says that he and other residents are worried that the terminal will have a negative impact on business and property values. wral reached out to johnston county board of commissioners chairman tony aswell tells u

let's get to brian shrader to show us trouble spots. >> problems with python roads. this is davis tried that highway 54 in durham. the durham county sheriff tweeted this picture of an overturned truck. road. you get out there and think the world is mostly dry, then hit an icy spot and end up ipped over. that has happened a couple of times this morning around the triangle. this is a scene from the triangle in north raleigh of the person on twitter to send us that. appreciate that. look at what the neighborhood roads are looking like. sidestreets really messy, still. still ice covered. this is in one of those shaded spots which is going to be a little slower to mouth. nearing highway 55, pretty icy between cave creek and 540 and ry. also chapel hill police say an overturned vehicle on 54 coming in from chapel hill to carrboro causing traffic delays. one of our earlier reports from twitter indicated that was likely due to ice. several accidents on that stretch of highway. so, it is messy out there. you need to allow plenty of extra time, especially on secondary roads. w

. >>> 8:39, i'm brian shrader. we are getting a lot of information about just how bad the roads are around the from the town of hillsboro where a town worker reports that i-40 is in the same condition as the town roads there, very icy. on top of that layer of snow and sleet that fell yesterday. of course so many of us thought that freezing rain and the temperatures where they were yesterday. a lot of it is slush and wet. overnight, temperatures dropped into the 20s. anything that was wet froze over. so we are seeing an ice went out on the roads this morning. advising people to stay home and enjoy the day of sledding. that's probably the best advice we can give you as well. the highway patrol told us earlier this morning, called the television station and asked us to tell everybody to stay put. not only looking at icy conditions, we have a lot of power lines and trees down all over the region. this is a look in raleigh at new bern avenue and trailer growth. we've been telling you about this all morning long. you can
