brian sullivan was appointed a correctional officer in 1988 marking the beginning of over 35 years of service. brian sullivan worked his wray through the ranks of the department and achieving the rank of captain in 2022. he served in multiple positions and the behavioral management unit which come piesed of the most dangerous inmates in custody. in addition to safeguarding our community, brian demonstrated his leadership and elected in 2002 to serve as delegate of the union. as he did in his career, he rose through the ranks of the union having been elected dell get first as the union's vice president and then twice as president of the organization. in his tenure as union leader he was successful and passed several laws at the state level to protect pension and death benefits. brian's work safeguarding the people of nassau county and he is worthy of debate praise. i am honored to recognize the incredible career of my nassau county neighbor and friend. i wish him the best and i know he will continue being a selfless community servant wherever life takes him. best of luck in his retirem
