brian todd is in quont he could tonight with the latest. authorities any closer to figuring out what the motivation was today? >> reporter: they could be a little bit closer, erin. military officials telling us investigators are pursuing every possible lead including the possibility that some kind of a relationship dispute might have led to these killings. they're also giving us a sequence of how this played out overnight last night and into this morning. military officials telling us they got a 911 call between 10:30 and 11:00 last night. they responded to a common area in the marine officer candidate school at the quantico marine base. in that common area they found the first victim dead, a male marine dead. they pursued the shooter into a barracks. he went into a barracks. they surrounded the barracks and tried to establish communication with the shooter. but then they didn't go into the barracks for about another two hours. and they have not explained, erin, that interval between the time that they surrounded it and tried to make commun

brian todd has the latest. >> an airline captain spotted something close to his jet. >> we see a dronethe fbi says the unmanned drone came within two of the feet of the passenger plane. the co-pilot spotted two. the flight landed safely. the incident monday afternoon is under investigation by the f a and the fbi which is asking the public's help in finding the aircraft of this operator. a source with knowledge of the incident said investigators interviewed the pilots and others aboard the plane. the pilot of two other jets which were approaching jfk at the same time said they did not see the unmanned aircraft. experts say even small from composer risk to commercial jets did they collide with them are it sucked into their engines. the incident raises questions about rules governing the vehicles. on that aircraft be as small as distraught or small or big as a passenger plane. under faa rules you can fly it recreational league but not more than 400 ft. off the ground and not near an airport. if an operator flies on within 3 mi. of an airport he or she has to let air traffic control know.

brian todd is on scene, covering this tragedy from warren, ohio. what a painstaking, difficult tragedy. brian, what happened? >> reporter: wolf, state police say this is the single largest loss of life in a single accident in the history of this county, the largest loss of life in the state in one accident in at least three years. this is where it happened, this pond in warren. this is where the vehicle flipped, went in upside down into the pond. about four or five feet of water in the pond, but police say the vehicle filled up with water quickly and six of the victims didn't make it out alive. people have been throwing flowers and things here all day, this is a makeshift memorial. stuffed animals, notes, flowers for the victims. it is all very flesh for the survivors and for victims' relatives, some of whom got very emotional when they spoke to us. kyle boehner can barely bring himself to describe it, moments at the hospital when he had to identify the body of his little brother. >> it took me an hour to find him, and by the time i found him, they

and brian todd is with us now from washington. and his producer have been combing through all the documents. and, brian, what are you learning about specifically the day of the shooting, but also what are you learning about jared lee loughner, now currently serving seven consecutive life sentences for what he did? >> we're learning a lot of riveting new detail, nugget type information about the day of the shootings, about jared lee loughner, his demeanor the day of the shootings. 2700 pages of documents released by the pima county sheriff's department today. they give the details, as far as loughner is concerned, one account is from alan foreiny, a officer from the arizona fish and game department. he describes stopping loughner at a traffic stop, just a couple of hours before the shootings. this was for running a red light. that traffic stop we did know about. but in one document, he describes loughner's behavior to a detective and fbi agent, he said he started lecturing loughner about his driving and listen to this detail, then

cnn's brian todd is following those developments for us today in washington. and, brian, you've been talking to people who knew jessica upshaw, what have you learned? >> various things, brooke, since this was reported yesterday and early this morning. the sheriff of simpson county, mississippi, quoted all over the place as saying this appears to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound, we spoke to a close friend of jessica upshaw who was with her yesterday, this friend has also told us that this was an apparent suicide. the coroner of simpson county has confirmed to us she died of a single gunshot wound to the head. according to the friend, who we spoke to, jessica upshaw had been battling depression for several years. was under a doctor's care, and had been taking medication for depression, had modified her diet and overall this friend says she was very committed to battling her depression, this friend describes her as brilliant, someone who had an impressive ability to read a lot of material very quickly, legislation, legal material, she is a former attorney, we ha

brian todd's joining us. first of all, how do they explain how this happened? >> reporter: this could be hacking or simple identity theft a website claiming to have financial information about political and entertainment figures is posting information. website is entitled the secret files it has a picture of a ghoulish looking girl on the main page. information appears to be data on the celebrities' finances, credit reports, loan information, credit card accounts, mortgages. . we can't verify this information is accurate. but the secret service and the fbi are investigating. the secret service confirms to us it is looking into how the personal information purported to relate to first lady michelle obama, vice president biden and former first lady and secretary of state hillary clinton ended uppen the website on the internet. separately as an indication the situation is treated seriously a law enforcement official told cnn that investigators are going to seek administrative subpoenas to obtain records from internet service providers. >> wow. and there's some oth

brian todd is outside the venezuelan embassy in washington, d.c. what are you hearing?y out here right now. the flag as you can see at the venezuelan embassy is lowered to the lowest point on that pole over there. a couple people have come by in recent hours to put flowers at the steps of the embassy. one young man just a few moments ago laid a single yellow tulip on the steps of the embassy. venezuela has no official diplomatic relations with the united states right now so there's no ambassador here, but an official of the venezuela embassy did just step out and spoke with me off camera a few moments ago. this official did not want to go on camera because of the nature of the relationship but this official told me, i asked her about just any color she could give me around -- about the circumstances around the president's death, who was with him. she said she believes at least two of his daughters were there. he has three daughters and a son. she believes at least two of his daughters were with him. he was at the hospital at the time he passed. he does have a grandson.
