brian todd is there standing by. brian, tell me what the situation is. >> reporter: brooke, this is an active evacuation going on right now. our photojournalist will zoom in on the front door of the garden gate nursing home there where some 180 elderly people are being evacuated from the facility. they are concerned that the roof is about to collapse. you can see several feet of snow on the roof. what we were told by a fire chief earlier is some residents noticed some cracking in the walls, some bowing of the ceilings. they brought in inspectors. they became very concerned. they thought the building might be compromised and it appears it is. they are getting people out. not all of these residents are out of here yet. they brought a few ambulance full of them. a real concern here. no injuries yet, brooke but they have to try to get they people out. we'll take you in there again. you see these emergency responders at the front of the building and here comes another ambulance about to turn in and probably try to get some

you heard brian todd talk about the snow on roofs. think about what the rain does when that falls on top of the heavy snow pack on the structures or the buildings, rain just adds additional weight to the roofs of houses. it absorbs into the snowfall leading to a roof collapsing. we'll see the possibility of that increase as the temperatures warm up and the chance of rain increases as well. if we were to extract all the available water out of that thin band of snow that fell in western new york state, 10 to 25 centimeters of liquid equivalent. that is 4 to 10 inches and we add on on of that the additional rainfall. but that chance of flooding has several factors. it depends on that rate of melting. by monday is the warmest temperatures and we confine the probability of flooding to that narrow band. but certainly a good chance that the sewer drains will be clogged with snow and ice chunks and that will add to the possibility of urban flooding as well. we have flood watches across five counties. that's from sunday to wednesday. now we're

. >>> joining us on the phone now is cnn's brian todd. >> brian, we know you spoke to wilson's attorney. what did he say specifically about wilson's resignation? >> he said that, you know, as we've been reporting, the negotiations have been in progress for some weeks now for him to resign but recently, in recent days, wilson had gotten word of threats to the ferguson police department. i pressed him on those threats. he would not elaborate on the specific nature of the threats to the police department. he did indicate that the threat was of the nature that something could conceivably happen late last night or possibly overnight today into the ferguson police department if he didn't resign last night. wilson got a sense that he needed to step out yesterday or last night to avoid something happening. and again, we pressed him on that. he just didn't want to elaborate on that. clearly, wilson got a sense that the timing was such that he had better step out now and he did so. again, we've been reporting for weeks now he had been negotiating this, his attorney told us this was in fact coming

brian todd is on the scene for us. you've got more breaking news over there. at are you seeing, brian? >> wolf, we have an active evacuation scene. the garden gate nursing home outside buffalo. they had to evacuate about 180 residents from the nursing home because they're concerned the roof may collapse. i talked to one of the fire chiefs a moment ago. he told me that they are concerned that the roof could collapse because residents in the -- one of the dining halls noticed cracking in the walls, boeing of the roofs, and other possible compromises to the building and then they brought in building inspectors who noticed the same things and decided they better get them out. you can see some heavy snow building up on the roof over there. they've already evacuated probably about i would say three ambulance fulls of elderly people and they brought in a bus to evacuate. there are no injuries, but this is the kind of situation you're facing all over the buffalo area. roofs are collapsing in this area throughout the region and in the nursing home like this one they've

cnn has been reporting that wilson is negotiating his negotiation from the ferguson police. >> brian toddthanks. >>> we want to talk about all this with officer wilson's attorney. neil, thank you for being with us. you just herald brian's report there, saying that officer wilson is negotiating his resignation. where does that stand right now? >> reporter: we're still in talks. we're hoping again we can part ways with the city of ferguson in an amicable question. there's no question he can't go back, but the terms which he leaves are important. nothing is finished at this point. i suspect it will be relatively soon. >> what do you mean the terms under which he leaves? >> again, he's going to have to resign because he can't go back. i think the city wants to treat him as fairly as they can, but the flip side is, again, we're just sort of figuring out the when, and there are some financial issues that have to be tended to, things like his pension that he will have already earned. we have to make sure we're covering all that. >> tell us about his time in hiding, how afraid has he been, is he

then there's brian todd. somehow he's found his way inside a polling facility. how he did it, i don't know if he's legal but he's there and it's good for you watching. you're in new hampshire. important place, moan for being strong on the independent side, the race shapes up. they have somebody being painted as the status quo. you have scott brown coming in. who's almost a carpet bagger depending on how you want to define it. how is it looking there and what's the robustness of voting like behind your shoulder? >> chris, to say this state is pumped up about the vote is an understatement. we have had a steady stream of voters coming in. this is the busiest voting station in new hampshire. ward 1. this is webster elementary school. people come and line up. they register here, sign in here. they get a poker chip and then they go over and get the paper ballot. >> old school. >> then into the booth and vote. totally old school. then into the -- then the votes go into the tabulator box at the other end of that row. so it is old school and there's no early voting here.

brian todd has the story. >> he says he was right behind the navy seal who took the first shot at osama bin laden. of his lawyer tells us that he is the subject of a criminal investigation and was recently questioned for 10 hours. government officials briefed on the matter say the pentagon and justice department are looking into whether he revealed classified information. since publishing the best- selling book no easy day about the bin laden raid. >> the man who wrote the book was asked whether he ever disclosed secret information >> that is absolutely not what i intended to do. these are my brothers the other served beside for years. a lot of them continue to serve. >> his lawyer says they are not aware of any specific allegations that sensitive information was leaked. no criminal charges have been filed. his attorney says the former navy seal does not mind being held accountable but wonders why the former cia director is not getting that kind of scrutiny after him and others encourage cooperation with the makers of the film's zero dark 30 >> the governor had already been trying to se

brian todd is joining us from buffalo. he has more. what is the latest there, brian?are getting ready for the next round of meteorological hardship. there is so much hardship, the initial snow and then the one aspect of the snow removal. i'm standing in the middle of a huge pile of snow where they are dumping some of the removed snow from the neighborhoods here in east buffalo in a rail yard. the mayor said more than 35 tons have been removed from south buffalo, the areas hardest hit in the last couple of days. they run out of places to put it. this is one of the places. another aspect, the sheer scope of this. we took an aerial tour and flew over several hard-hit areas where they are still not dug out. people still not over it. we flew over the stadium. they have not been able to get the snow off the field. the buffalo bills, as most people following this story know by now, were going to play a game this sunday against the jets. they've rescheduled that to monday night, they've taken the game to detroit. they can't play in that stadium. we also had the perspective of

brian todd went up in a helicopter to show us what the city looks like from the sky. >> flying over somethe hardest hit areas of buffalo. snow up to the windows of many of the houses. more than three days after the snowstorm began, still just massive levels of snow in these neighbors south of buffalo. there's a guy digging snow off of his roof. several people are doing that in the buffalo area because this has been a major problem. snow drifts on the top of roofs overnight thursday into friday, about 30 roofs had collapsed in the area. schools in buffalo have been closed all week. look at those school buses and how much they're skill covered. this is ralph wilson stadium where the buffalo bills play their home games. a big story this week has been whether the bills can play their home game on sunday against the new york jets. it was decided they could not clear the snow from the facility on time. the bills are going to play in detroit on monday night. this is what a completely unplowed street in bufbl looks like. most of those cars are still snow bound. these people may not get out of he
