let's go now to our colleague, brian todd, who is in tampa. brian give us an idea of what you're seeing now the latest you're hearing about potential damages, storm surge, flooding, just go through for us >> victor, a short time ago, we thought we were kind of done with this mess. we saw kind of a winding down of the wind and rain, but it has recurred, it has resurged here still getting pelted with wind and rain. so i can tell you this has been really one of the most relentless hurricanes i've ever covered just for its duration, for the volume of water that it just poured on this area. you've got almost a foot. we're of what's worth of rain? here in the tampa area and for hours and hours and hours, that water was flooding the street where i'm on howard avenue, and it had very few places to go. so it really did cause a lot of flooding in this area. and what daylight breaks in a couple of hours? we will be able to see what kind of damage it really did bring what we can tell you is that now it's a question of when first responders can get out and

my friend, i want to go to cnn's brian todd who is in tampa. brian, tell me what you're seeing. i know for a while there was all these transformers that are happening and obviously a loss of more than 2 million people with power, without power, what are you? right now in tampa, which they thought would get the worst of it really did seem to be getting the worst of it. >> we were just getting hammered really slammed with wind and rain. it was relentless for several hours. it was really i think the longest i my team and i have endured in a lot of years of covering these types of storms. it was just relentless for several hours. finally, finally, in the 1:00 a.m. eastern time hour, we seem to be getting a little bit of a break here. i'm still getting tougher so it was some wind and rain, it has died down just a little bit. but still, look, this is these are some of the more dangerous times in the course of the you know, whereas when a storm moves through an area like this because people start to take for granted that, okay. maybe if it's moved away, i can go outside where you reall

let's go to brian todd in tampa. brian, where are you avenue? just tell you that the storm is now. >> this relentless. it is violent, and it is dangerous out here. just take a look at how i'm getting just slam from my left side. when dust blowing horizontally, the reynas horizontal. i even noticed a little bit of guilt. sometimes the rain seems like it's blowing upward. it's just getting so out here we've heard the bill that everybody talked about the figures here, nine inches of rain in three hours, three months worth of rain. in three hours is what that translates to we're not even in one of those zones where they had mandatory evacuations. now, head node that this was going to be this violent, this neighborhood of tampa. they may have paid for mandatory evacuation here, but they did not still there is nobody out here now because it is simply too dangerous to be out here. this road is starting to flood and it's getting the flooding is going to get much worse because this water basically has nowhere to go as well. >> brian, todd, it's kaitlan h
