here, dalio did not close at bridgewater and turn it into a family office as many have done.the transition work anyway many people are going offices at instead -- leaving offices instead. so can the industry get it together? it is still to be seen. guy: do we think this will have a positive or negative impact on acquisition? sonali: it's interesting, i think positive because when you're taking a look at this, i think there are questions about how culture changes at bridgewater, given the strong sense of those principles that he is known for so well but then investment in technology, i think that is a welcome change on wall street, isn't it? this is something attracting a lot wider arrays of talent across the industry while still holding on to the love of investing. so you can still have multiple types of people in a firm and i think you are hearing the executives talk a lot about this. earlier this year we had a conversation, a big piece about what the investment world to look like in 30 years and he talked about collaboration through technologies. i think that was a big hand

bridgewater has co-ceo's. he has reached the place where he is satisfied that he can entrust the firms future to this new leadership, give up his voting rights, which i have to add is an awfully big deal and begin the next chapter of his life. guy: what does this mean for bridgewater? how does this change the direction going forward. it's been a long time coming. lay out what bridgewater is going to look like going forward. eric: that is such an important question. one of the coat ceos put it to me, they no longer have the final word. that is the biggest indication of changes to come. as somebody who previously held 95% of the voting rights, it was his decision, whether they had an operating committee or board or co-ceos. the coat ceo and one of his told me the firm is likely to invest more heavily in talent acquisition and technology. that is something of an arms race in the hedge fund world. if they perceive that bridgewater has been falling behind, they are going to double down those technology investments.
