so it's cassidy brinkley, johnny brinkley, benton brinkley. my wife is ann goldman of new orleans. we met there and got married in new orleans and have become a family man. it's changed my life. and more, brian, changing your life having kids, i love taking them -- all my kids want to do now is go to the wild basin to go see animals. we have a place in austin. so i take them to a nature study center. i'm teaching them the animals. they don't look and say they know even -- if they see a fish in the tank, that's a perch. i trained them to get them to start knowing all of them and they each have favorite animals that they've honed in on. my daughter benton, for example, is all ducks and we have -- without exaggeration she probably has 200 ducks, toy ducks -- >> 200 toy ducks? >> she just surrounded her of all of these little, it's an obsession. but the audubon society of america does a whole series of bird stuffed toys, which are really fun because you can get a great blue heron or you could get a snowy egret or whatever it might be. we have a lot of those, too, a big audubon society

s back to doug brinkley, when did you start writing the first chapter? i started writing my proloug and how we started saving. >> i have been collecting my files i had people take me to watch sea turtles. at night with the great turtle expedition it will get like the birth of mankind. it was like biblical. i was trying to experience some of the wild life there wouldn't be manete in florida today if it wasn't for roosevelt. gerald ford is a very small book. this book was the book i was going to live and die by. i was putting everything i had as for my childhood experience at national parks to my knowledge of theodore roosevelt. many women have written great books recently on t.r. kathleen dalton. there's great literature out there. i've been going to t.r. conferences really since the 1980s. my hobby was less t.r. than the sites that he saved. when happened with the reagan diaries is i wasn't expecting it. about our rangers and d. day. peat wilson, the former governor of california. there was a stiplation. one with mrs. reagan that ended it up quickly. i h
