joining me now is douglas brinkley back with me actually. joining me now olivia, washington correspondent for new york magazine. olivia you get the first word. do you think the president has been fundamentally changed by this president? >> well i think that donald trump has revealed issues that already existed in the press. he's also prompted a lot of self-reflecting and debate amongst the press about how best to cover him. things maybe we didn't talk about before or we didn't analyze too closely before. i think that can be a good thing. i think it can be a bit of a distraction. but i don't really know that the president has changed the media. he's not changing the way that people are reporting. every is doing their jobs the same way. they're investigating the same way. i think he has made everyone's attention span shorter. there's that saying about trump i think others have said. he makes everybody a little bit like him. i think that's true to some extent about the press core as well. we all have that short attention span the way he does be

it was at the country place assisted living on olive lane >> leslie brinkley is live with the story. >> reporter: dan and kristen, you can imagine the panic of getting 49 alzheimer's patients evacuated from the building behind me and then bussed away to another assisted living facility about a mile away from here in antioch. the red cross is bringing in cots to help the displaced seniors. that fire started around 2:00 in a laundry room here at country place and it triggered a sprinkler head that flooded the rooms in the common areas. residents were hoping to go back in and recover their belongings but they were evacuated. no one was injured and authorities called a mass casualty event because they needed to find immediate housing for 49 alzheimer's patients. a facility called stepped up and these residents are likely to be displaced for a while. a cleanup crew i spoke to here said that there was a fire in a neighboring building just a year ago also that appeared to start in a laundry room. but these 49 residents are safe and sound for now. reporting live in antioch, i'm leslie brinkl
