judge brinkley found him in technical violation multiple times.november 2012 she banned meek from touring for a month after he was arrested for suspected marijuana use, but never charged. in 2014, she sent meek to jail for three to six months for travelling without permission and testing positive for opioids, and added more years to his probation. and two years later, she slapped him with "house arrest without permission to work for 90 days," again for travel violations and for giving a fake urine sample. and again added more years to his probation. there are a lot of law-abiding people who hear this story and say, "well, technical or not, you know, the rules were laid out. you knew what the rules were and you violated them." how do you respond to that? >> you know, we've never made any excuses for anything. when people are put on probation, they're expected to toe a line. but when you put somebody in a tightrope, and i don't mean a probation but a tightrope for their entire adult life, they are gonna fall off. >> according to the bureau of justic

presidential historian douglas brinkley says trump is trying to be fdr now. too late? what do you think? >> mm-hmm. >> he's definitely trying to. he said it. he said it out loud today that he sees himself now as a wartime president. and my understanding is that that is in part how people around him convinced him to take this seriously because that is the situation he is in right now. it was a very long time coming. but, you know, just invoking it and not actually using it or having that power but not using it, if you listen to people like bill de blasio, the mayor of new york city, the place where the doctor just said, you know, is going to be hit incredibly hard likely in a week's time, he's pleading with the president to not just send the national guard but to actually use the military because they are going to need it. and look, things are kind of happening really, really fast and in slow motion at the same time. i know that sounds a little bit -- very contradictory, but it is because it's taking a while for people to wrap their minds around the enormity of this. an
