let's start with meteorologist brittney shipp who is in for bill. brittney, there has been a warming trend most of us have loved. >> i loved it yesterday. temperatures at 64, lots of sunshine, you barely needed a jacket. the same will be true today. in fact, temperatures are going to be even warmer. they are warmer this morning than they were yesterday. 36 degrees in allentown, mid-30s in pottstown, 42 in philadelphia. 42 in atlantic city. your 8-hour city planner shows that we're dealing with a bit of patchy fog, you can see it on the animation. 7:00 a.m., 44 degrees, 10:00 a.m., 54. by 1:00 p.m., 63. again today the high will be all the way at 67 degrees. but the record for philadelphia is actually at 73 so we're pretty far from that record. about five degrees in atlantic city and closer for the poconos t forecast high is 57, the record 60, forecast high in reading is 63, and the record is 65 degrees in the forecast for allentown 63, the record is 62 so we have a pretty good chance to beat the record in allentown so. we're going to see warm condit

let's begin with meteorologist brittney shipp. it sounds like amazing weather. >> yesterday was great. temperatures at 64 degrees, today even warmer. we are seeing a little bit of fog depending where you are, a bit of patchy fog. if you are close to northeast philadelphia visibility is down to a half mile, same in mount holly, and in millville down to a quarter mile in wilmington half a mile in dover so you want to be pretty careful if you're heading out early to do shopping or whatever you are deciding to do this morning. so, just keep that in mind. we are seeing some areas of dense fog. we're warmer this morning than yesterday morning. we're at fef degrees in the poconos, 36 in allentown, 34 in pots tourngs 33 in coatesville, low 40s in philadelphia. 37 in wilmington. at 38 in northeast philly, 41 in woodbine and 50 degrees in lewis. our highs around the area today, will be even warmer than yesterday. 67 in philadelphia. 63 in pottstown. 64 in allentown and temperatures in atlantic city close to 67. so we're tracking near-record

let's check the weekend weather now with meteorologist brittney shipp.morning. >> a cold start on saturday morning, it's going to be cold as well as tomorrow for the activities, the marathon in town, and also a lot of people tailgating for the eagles' game. let's go over what we can expect for today. a mix of sun, clouds, temperatures cold, philadelphia 45 degrees, 46 in atlantic city, 40 degrees in allentown, and 41 in pottstown, a closer look at the shots show we are seeing the clouds moving through. we have a cold front associated with this system here that's bringing the snow and rainfall to parts of the midwest giving us a little chance of showers as we head into tonight. it's going to cool down our temperatures. closer to 10:00 p.m., we start to see a few of the light showers moving in, but your future temperatures show, as we go into the rest of the day, by 11:00 a.m., high 40s, but bit afternoon, the highest is 53 degrees in philadelphia i'm tracking cooler air moving in for tomorrow, and windier conditions. all the details in the full forecast.

nbc 10 first alert meteorologist brittney shipp joins us now in studio. brittney, you have the details of what you just called the witch of november. what's that? >> it is a funny name, but if you take a look at the strong wind storm it's also known as the witch of november. wind speeds gusting up to 45 miles per hour in detroit, up to 45 in buffalo, 32 in chicago, and we're going to start to see gusty winds into the rest of tonight and definitely by tomorrow, wind gusts up to 38 miles per hour in the poconos and also into parts of allentown and into pottstown. so as we get into your friday, that's what we expect to see. let's show you the video and show you what else this system was responsible for. a hood of snow for the rookies probably made these skiers happy, but a mess of the roads about 50 flights were cancelled at the denver international airport. now we'll fly you over to oklahoma, these winds whipped right through oklahoma, helping to fuel these wildfires. wind gusts up to about 60 miles per hour were reported, and then in iowa a tornado touched
