first alert meteorologist brittney shipp has a closer look at how much you'll see in your neighborhood. good morning brittney. >>> that's right. we'll continue to watch the snowfall here in cape may. it is also moving into kent and sussex counties. taking a closer look at the snow forecast, the highest amounts are going to be situated in the counties. between five to nine inches expected. four to seven closer to salem county. as we take a closer look for philadelphia, camden gloucester, new castle bucks, montgomery chester, those locations, those counties will see anywhere between two to four inches. we have already seen around two inches come down in some of our suburbs. if you look closer to the lehigh valley we are going to see one to three inches with the storm system that we're tracking situated mainly to the south of the region. so that's why some of the southernmost locations will see more snowfall than others. two inches or less if you live closer to the poxcanos. the bull's-eye of the storm is the central and southern parts of delaware and along the shore. jillian mele is watc

let's get right to the super bowl sunday forecast with meteorologist brittney shipp. brittney, tonight is when the weather really could get dicey. >> that's right. as we head into your late-night hours. closer to 10:00 or 11:00 as you're heading home from some of your super bowl parties. this will continue into your overnight hours and linger into your monday morning commute. we could see a few snow flurries and light showers ahead of the system, but the brunt of the moisture will get here into your late hours. so a current look at our temperatures, 20 in the poconoses, 25 in allentown, 27 in philadelphia 18 to start off the morning in millville. not quite as cold as what we were dealing with yesterday, with the bitter winds, but still a cold start to the morning. satellite radar shot shows how big that system is stretching all the way back bringing snow to parts of minneapolis and home omaha, and it is going to be a first alert night ahead of us. with the snow wintry ñl6 freezing rain and rain expected i will start later on tonight, and a messy monday morning commute.

meteorologist brittney shipp is tracking the aftermath of yesterday's storm. brittney it's really not the snow that's the issue, it's this ice. >> it is the ice that has now formed over the snow. so that's creating slippery conditions as we head into the next few hours. at least until 9:00 a.m. so we've extended our first alert. we want everyone to be careful, whether you're walking or you're driving this morning. take it easy. just go very slow as you head out the door. there's a live look. you can see the visibility is down. we have low-hanging clouds light rain moving through parts of philadelphia. but if i switch you over to the satellite radar shot you can see the clearing edge there, and throughout most of our western suburbs and lancaster county we're already seeing drying conditions. temperatures are still hovering pretty close to that freezing mark, so we're still dealing with ice on the roadways parking lots and sidewalks, but most of the rain is mainly confined to parts of south jersey and right along the shore and starting to clear up in philadelphi

meteorologist brittney shipp is tracking the rain that's still falling in some places this morning, and brittney ice is the real concern. >> it is the real concern. there are dangerous conditions out there, especially for some of the parking lots some of the sidewalks, some of the secondary streets and the overpasses so you want to be very careful, if you have to head out to the next few hours. at least through 9:00 a.m. we're going to continue our first alert, until your late-morning hours, and that is due to this dangerous ice. it is very very very slippery when you step outside. that's why we have the first alert extended again throughout this morning. overpasses sidewalks, side streets, roads are very slick. we picked up over half a foot of snowfall yesterday. and as we show you the radar, we are still dealing with slippery conditions and wet conditions, as you can see for philadelphia. light rain coming down. our temperatures are just above freezing. so freezing rain in dover and jersey and a few isolated snow showers coming down at this time in allentown. let's show you those temp

let's start with meteorologist brittney shipp. where is the snow? >> the snow is moving out of the area. the main part of the storm system. but we will see redevelopment close to the i-95 corridor. but the heaviest snowfall has pushed east of trenton at this time. the next concern is the blowing snow as the wind speeds start to pick up. this is what it looks like along 95 here. you can make out the blowing snow there. that is going to reduce the visibility as we head into the next few hours. the wind speeds are guesting up to 29 in wilmington and 30 miles an hour in lancaster. we are extending our first alert weather to include tomorrow and monday morning because we expect to see dangerous cold and wind heading to sunday. wind chills expecting to be negative 15 to negative 30 and the wind gusts up to 60 miles an hour throughout the day on sunday. as you wake up the feels like temperature in philadelphia will be closer to 9 degrees below zero. i'll let you know how long the dangerous cold will stick around. >> we continue with christine maddela live

we begin with brittney shipp. and the snow could post challenges for those on valentine's day. >> here is the satellite. shows a lull from all the snow we saw a little earlier today. we are going to keep our eye off to the west watching a the potential squall that could crawl closer to us. that basically means sunday heavy snow. lowers visibility if you are out there driving on the roads and we could see the possibility for white kout conditions. you can also see it is thin and short lived. and it's quick moving. so after 7:40 we could see part of this closer to reading. just a heads up. as you are driving throughout the next couple hours we could see a heavy down pour of snowfall decreasing visibility. and the other thing as we head into tomorrow and monday our first alert has been extended due to the dangerous cold and wind. we expect to see winds up to 60 miles per hour on sunday and windchills between negative 15 and negative 25. i'll let you know how long the cold will stick around coming up. >>> the philadel
