so brock turner is on probation for three years. in practical terms what does that mean for his life? >> well, it will be a living hell to put it in one sentence. he has to report to the probation department, then to his probation officer who will regulate and run his life. he will be drug tested, he will be alcohol tested. the hours that he spends out of his house will be regulated. for example, he will be told, you be back by 9:00 at night, and you're not to go anywhere else but to be at home. there are certain places you can't go. he won't be able to go into bars. he can go into restaurants that serve alcohol. he has to do everything that probation officer tells him. if he violates, theoretically key be sent back to jail. >> so, michael, my question, we know that he has now registered as a sex offender. >> right. >> he has fulfilled that commitment. what type of impact will that have on him in the future? >> well, i have got to tell you, you know, everybody is upset about the time that he spent in jail, and i understand that. but

brock, do you have anything to say?> so after three sexual assault felonies and just three months of a six-month sentence served and that's the legal allowance. overcrowding allows for that kind of release. he is heading today ton, ohio and where probation authorities said he will serve out the three years of his probation. that's not all. there is more to the sentence as well. he will be registered as a sex offender for the rest of his life, and that's a pretty strict regimen he's got to follow as well. he is going to have to register within five days of his release in ohio. he is going to have to enter a sex offender management program for at least one year, possibly up to three. even though that kind of stringent regulation on the rest of his life was imposed on him, there is a lot of criticism in that light jail sentence. sik six months. it could have been 14 years. the prosecutors wanted six years but he got six months. that's why there is this campaign. the protesters coming out later today to this area to voice t

brock turner is a former stanford swimmer. he was convicted of sexual assaulting a drunk woman outside a frat party last year. he faced several years in prison. but he was only given six months in jail and now he is being released early after only three months in jail. the sheriff says he is going to walk out the front doors like everyone else and they are making final security preparations. >> i think that protestors are going to be angry. i think a lot of people are angry over this case. it's too light of a sentence for a rapist. and, um, but we're just going to make sure that the public and everybody that's there is safe on the morning that he is released. >> reporter: there is an effort to recall judge persky after he handed down that six-month sentence to brock turner. the protestors tomorrow are part of that campaign. persky's actually asked to be reassigned to civil instead of criminal cases. he has received death threats. brock turner is expected to be released again tomorrow between 5 and 9 a.m. he is expected to go b

that brock turner walked out of the main jail. the sheriff said he would not get any special treatment and she kept her word. brock turner left his jail cell and walked out of the front doors of the santa clara county main jail.
