here on brody lane, this is a massive, massive police spre presence. a few more details on what happened and he says a short time ago one of his employees in his 30s was actually looking through a bag of donations and that is when he noticed a flash of some sort according to the president of 2k3w50d wi goodwill central texas and that flash, people started moving away from the being of donations and this employee suffered minor injuries to his hand. initially we heard they were serious, according to the president of goodwill, he said they were minor injuries. as we spoke to him, he was getting updates from the staff and it appears to be a fluid situation and rachel, i think this speaks to how much this city is on edge just a short time before, an hour, hour and a half ago, the initial call is this was yet another explosion and atf, fbi, austin police were responding to this as if it could be an explosion but again, within the past few minutes, breaking news that this is not believed to be related to those other explosions, the five other explosions, as

ed, you are saying this was on brody lane.aying this is not too far from the fed ex facility? >> reporter: well, let me paint the picture for you. there were two packages with the explosive devices found here in austin and one near a town called schertz, a suburb of northern san antonio. that package exploded. the one that was discovered here at the scene behind me did not detonate. they were able to dismantle it here before it detonated. but what we are told by investigators is that they also spent a great deal of time today at a drop-off location. this was a distribution -- the two facilities where the packages were found were distribution facilities. there was a drop-off location on brody lane where we know investigators spent a great deal of the day because that's where they believe the suspects -- the packages that were found here at this location in southeast austin near the airport and the one in schertz, they believe that's where those packages originated from, where they were mailed from, which is just a few miles awa

it's on a street called brody lane.uch of the day investigators have spent at a fedex drop off facility just a few miles up the road on brody lane where they expect several packages were dropped off at a distribution center, one of the ones you see behind me here. very close to where investigators have spent much of the day. and also on top of that very close geographically here in the city where an explosion occurred monday night that the injured two college age, in their 20s. >> you were at the fedex drop off point where the unexploded package was found today. i wonder what officials are saying about this item. i talked to the chief of police last night on the broadcast who said his understanding, and the atf is obviously look into the bomb components and so is the fbi. but some of the components in the bomb device, actually at that point -- we're just getting pictures of the site of what may be this new explosion. these are just pictures we're getting from our affiliate there in austin kxan, and you can see first res

local time of a reported explosion here on brodie lane. now, there is a large good will center on this road about 300 feet behind me. we do not know yet if that is the location. but in terms of the location within austin, this could be significant. we are in south austin right now, brodie lane has already featured in the investigation here because those two package  bombs that were found at fedex facilities down near san antonio and near the airport here in austin, those two packages were both mailed at a fedex dropoff facility on this same road a couple of miles further down. also this is quite near the location of that trip wire detonation sunday night. in fact, we were just in that neighborhood now when the call came in. it took us about ten minutes to drive here. as you can possibly see, a huge police response to this bombing. we are told one male in his 30s has been taken to the hospital. his injuries not thought at this time to be life-threatening. anderson? >> nick, is there any sense of, you know, we've now seen bombs in packages

county, a call upgraded to a bomb hotshot call that occurred at the goodwill in the 9800 block of brodie laneo the cian and upon the initial investigation, officers determined that a goodwill employee had found a box that someone employee had found a box that someone had dropped out that contained some items that that employee didn't think the goodwill wa nted employee didn't think the goodwill wanted to have. he passed that box off to another employee who was told to dispose of the box. that employee took the box around the corner and upon looking inside of it, it had two small devices that were artillery simulators, that looks like some type of military ordnance or some type of memento. after our investigation on the scene, we did determine that this was not an explosive device. this incident is not related to any of the other incidents that we have had here in boston. we got the latest and join our correspondent, gary 0'donoghue, who is in austin. at this stage there is no reason to believe this is connected to this wave of bombings in austin and surrounding areas the sheer randomness of t

investigators are looking at that brody lane location as well. they believe that the suspected bomber may have dropped off two packages at that location. one that made it to that facility near san antonio. the other one that ended up at that fedex facility near the austin airport. and that is -- that, as we know, so far, rather, is that package did not explode and so investigators will be detonating it within a short time, according to that source briefed open the investigation. now, chris, this city has been on edge. this explosion overnight was the fifth explosion in this area over the last several weeks. austin police said that the four previous explosions, including one in this neighborhood late sunday, that those four were linked. now, with this fifth explosion overnight, authorities in a morning briefing did not explicitly link it to the other four. however, we do know from the source briefed on the investigation that they're operating under that a sum assumption right now. according to logs we heard this morning, that package that exploded
