all right now we also have our own political correspondent who's bronte has been following this story for us let's bring him in if he can hear us if you're there you have also been tracking what's been going on both with the press conference also the s.d.p. as we just listened to just a little bit of that earlier how what does all of this mean in your perspective. well i think if you look at the reactions throughout the morning to the collapse of the coalition talks during the night it seems that all parties concerned are preparing themselves for the new elections are in fact to some extent looking forward to such a new elections i think one could probably make an argument that the free democrats these business liberal party that nature that caused the collapse of these talks that they are in fact hoping that in fresh elections they will improve on the already pretty spectacular results that they had in the elections at the end of september so for them fresh elections are an additional fertility and there are even some pundits that are suggesting that they. are. engaging in a kind of

political correspondent hans bronte is standing by for us at the german parliament good morning to you hons we know the parliament is now in session and of course some of these lawmakers they have just been elected now they might have to face fresh elections in just a few months time what is the mood there today. well obviously the break of coalition discussions on sunday night is causing its shadow over this session of parliament the agenda that was prepared is being followed but at the same time in practically all the discussions that are taking place in parliament on various issues one can feel that there is tension between the parties they are being barbs are being exchanged the atmosphere is really very tense at the same time parliament is a little bit left in the loo in the lurch is not quite sure how to operate under these circumstances because these are unprecedented in modern german history so the parliamentarians are trying to find a way to continue some sort of work some are even saying well we have a kind of independence from government rule now from government precondition

analyst at the global public policy institute here in berlin and we also have our correspondent hans bronte was in front of slow spells you were from told us by it's time i was speaking just a little bit earlier on starting with you what do you think is the most likely scenario at this point you think it's going to be new elections which we heard from voters i'm i just say are not planned yet or do you think there could be a possibility still for a minority government. well obviously is appealing to all parties at the moment which is his role this president obviously the german constitution puts a lot of weight on political stability and you elections fresh elections are something that the constitution makes very difficult to call so there will be another round of exploratory talks from the side of the president he's going to try him for saying all the parties that were a bit all represented in parliament which try and form a government and especially an appeal i think goes to his own social democratic party which so far has flatly refused to even think about entering into another coalition
