i would like to introduce myself my name is brooke oliver. am a local attorney and activist, and i want to thank you, commissioners, for during the difficult job of balancing private and public interests in designating landmarks. we know that is very challenging and that is exactly the issue that you face here today. i am volunteering as a council. my law practice focuses on intellectual property and icons of social change, on my other clients include most of them muralists in the mission district in los angeles,, the united farm workers union, san francisco pride, dykes on bikes, the sisters of perpetual indulgence, and most of the other nonprofits that are activist nonprofits in san francisco. i also live, work, and own property on balmy alley, which is central to the latino cultural district, which is a designation of balmy alley as a landmark would impact our property and its value. i understand the anxiety that the building owners may feel about this process starting. again i emphasize that the process here today would only be starting,
