i live in brooklyn, new york, a place called garrison beach.n in coney island, brooklyn, and i do construction for a living. my father was being treated at the va hospital in baybridge hospital in brooklyn, new york. he had bladder cancer and his body had enough, and he had his last breath and just took a lot out of me. you know what? >> i knew he was in a better place. at least i thought that's where he was going was to a better place. the next day i went to the daniel george funeral parlor to make arrangements for my father to be laid out. the owner of the establishment kind of made everything go smoothly, made me feel good and comforted me. i actually picked out a wood-type coffin. with my father being that he was a carpenter loved wood. i didn't want to go with the aluminum because it was kind of cold and just -- not -- there was no warmth to it, and picking out a coffin for your father is not something that you want to do. there were a lot of things that i wanted to stipulate to, as far as that. i did not want to have my father embalmed pi

i live in brooklyn, new york. this is one of my paintings behind me. the two sides of my work are, one, my personal work, which is painting and mostly fig rative, paintings that are exploring the notion of beauty and i end up doing those mostly as street murals and canvas work. the other side of me is thunder dog, my designs. we do a lot of mixed media, experimental digital work. the last few years has been like a huge influx of art meeting commer commerce, where artists are working with brands to make, you know, every kind of product you can name. artists can't solely survive just off of selling paintings. last ten years there's been a lot of brands that do collaborations with artists and that finances them. they're licensing their art for an ad campaign. that brand is working like a patron of the arts the way the church used to for michelangelo. a few products that thunder dog have done that are a perfect example of what i love about doing commercial art and collaborating with brands. we worked with puma last year on their fast lab campaign for husai
