. >>> breaking news in brooklyn where a 2-year-old girl has died. first responders rushed to her home last night. they couldn't save her. katherine creag is there with what police are saying. kat. >> reporter: what a tragedy to happen. it's near 6th avenue. there are police officers stationed in front of the family's house. police are telling us the name of the little girl. the child's name is melody fang. only 2 years old. the child has died. as we mentioned, there are police officers at the door of the family's house. there are police vehicles all around here as well. when officers first arrived here to the scene, this was after 8:00 last night, we were told that the father was actively performing cpr. the child appeared to have drowned. how that happened is unknown. an officer with the nypd told me that an autopsy is scheduled to take place a little later today to answer a lot of those questions. then the parents of the little girl, 2-year-old melody fang, the mom and dad are at the 72nd precinct station house being questioned by investigators. b
