i'm brooke baldwin here in new york.ictor blackwell is there standing by in jensen beach, florida, where coastal towns are starting to see the heavy rain and strong winds from hurricane dorian. it is now a category 2 storm, downgraded in strength, but growing in size, after battering the bahamas for two days. now, it is blamed for at least five deaths. and officials estimate dorian destroyed 13,000 homes. right now, multiple precautions are being taken in florida. right now, disney theme parks shut down most of its operations. as the storm gets closer to the u.s. cnn's jennifer gray is in the weather center. jennifer, do you have an update? what's the latest track? >> latest track is parallel to the coast basically, about 100 miles off is shore. they won't get to 110 mi 110-mile-per-hour winds around the center but tropical storm force winds, after relentless winds to the islands now pulling to the north, finally gaining some speed. and that will continue to pick up the forward speed as we go through the next few days. y

a do-over election, brooke. pollsters frankly, all polls we had watched in the weeks who edding up have essentially turned out exactly right, and it's almost a dead tie. between the two major parties. oren is right. one thing i would add, though, is, it is possible for the party who pulls largest number of votes to actually not be in a position to actually form a government. that happened in 2009. when mr. netanyahu's likud party fell behind, but still was able to form the government. the magic number here really is not 32, 33 or 34. it's 61. that a going to depend on how the other parties did. was it a big turnout? how did the guy who spoiled elections last time around do? lieberman? president of israel you would be thinking israel cannot afford to go through yet another election. regardless of the outcome you're going to appeal to these parties to try to figure out if no party can form a government, how to create a government of national unity? brooke, that's only going to become clear in the days and weeks ah

you're watching cnn, i'm brooke baldwin. outrage today over one of the most contentious issues of the trump administration. the sexual assault allegations against supreme court justice brett kavanaugh. at least six democratic presidential candidates are calling for his impeachment after the "new york times" published an exert of a new book on kavanaugh. joe biden, bernie sanders, amy klobuchar are calling for further investigation. it details conduct when kavanaugh was a student at yale. and democratic senator chris coons urged the fbi in a letter to interview one particular witness, the same person the times reports saw the incident. justice kavanaugh has repeatedly denied the accusation and the "new york times" on sunday put out an editor's note saying the female victim in their original story declined to talk and her friends say she does not recall the incident. cnn is not reporting any details of the claim because we have not independently corroborated it. but that's not all from this book excerpt. it also describes how

i'm brooke baldwin. thank you so much for being with me. i am back here in new york. victor blackwell is standing by for us in florida where millions are getting ready for the impact of hurricane dorian. we'll take you to victor here in just a second. first, take a look at this image with me. this is a picture of the eye of the hurricane which is now a category-four storm. this is taken from the international space station. this powerful storm that has just devastated the bahamas is making a painstakingly slow creep toward florida's coast at one mile per hour. cnn meteorologist jennifer gray is following dorian's every move. so did you get an update? what's the latest track for dorian? >> well, still -- still moving at one mile per hour and still just -- just decimating the parts of the bahamas. grand bahama island, even the abacos still getting very, very strong winds. 150 mile-per-hour winds still within the storm moving at one mile per hour. gusts of 190 right on grand bahama island right there. it's trying to move off shore. that southern part of the eye. but stil

south carolina and a kinsman of brooks, so brooks comes into the senate and basically says to sumner, who was seated at his desk, you have insuggest sulted -- you have insulted my part of the union, my state, my kinsman and threatens to punish him for it. he violently canes him. the desks in the senate were bolted to the ground so sumner in a sense is trapped, seated at that desk. ultimately in his anxiety to get away from the caning, wrenches the desk from the ground, but brooks continues caning him until his cane breaks. now, what's interesting, there are a number of interesting things about the caning. one of them is that although there was a lot of violence in congress, which i write about in this book, deliberate attacks like that are supposed to take place in the street. i mean, violence erupts all the time, particularly in the house, but if you are going to stage an attack, in that way, it's supposed to happen in the street, and brooks for two days tries to catch sumner outside on the capitol grounds, because that's the proper way to beat a congressman. why? well, you can see
