that's the shelter in brownsville texas. it's not a temporary facility like caruso spring. it's enormous. 250,000 square feet feet. there were 1500 boys at the time at the height of the separation crisis. inside the 22, 23 hours a day. living inside a whole world, watching the movie mowana in a loading dock. doing tai chi class glasses going to english classes. sitting in line for a barber shop preponderate the permanent shelters the difference them and the temporary facilities like homestead or tornillo which we remember those are soft-sided facilities. a lot have tents there. but also and most importantly they don't have the oversight of the -- excuse me of the permanent facilities. they're in the licensed by state child welfare organizations. . they're not bound by the same rules and regulations. i think that's what particularly concerns people the most about the idea of the biden administration using them. if the other hh.s shelters are not as capacity yet, the idea of putting children in places with less oversight, less safeguards against abuse or neglect is troublesom
