the brt will make transit more speedier and rideable.improve the safety for all the road users and maintain the person throughput along the corridor. van ness is a transportation project. the core brt project is r eflected in the two inner blue circles in this graphic. this is the project that prop k and fta's program is funded. at the same time, a project is a good opportunity to improve the state and other utilities. the project works close well caltrans, sf public works and other divisions within sfmta to include these five parallel projects. these projects include some work that is triggered by the brt, they include upgrades that have independent value. they are combined into a single construction project. fital design for this project as reached 100% level as of september. that includes the shelters, r ailings and landscaping. the tree shown here are gong tr. these trees were selected to have a strong urban survivability. the project will be replacing any existing trees that are removed at a 2-1 ratio. this design has been approved

i i'm the sfmta project manager for this project for the van ness brt project. the van ness brt project is building a bus rapid transit system which is secially a collection of transit lanes down van ness on either side of the median from south van ness and mission street to just shy of van ness and lombard and the buses transition into traffic. it's a complete streets project. it's comprehensive. we're repaving the road and building the transit bus ways but we're building nine transit stations next to the medians and in the center of the street and traffic lights and signals and lighting and rebuilding the sewer lines and water lines and rebuilding everything from sidewalk to sidewalk along van ness avenue. the critical portion for this commission is the historic district we have one station at mccallister and van ness and one of the reasons i wanted to mention that specifically is because you're responsible for reviewing and giving us feedback on the appropriateness of the design of that station. at the same time i would like you to consider that the sfmta is

i think it is important that we talk brt workforce and skill development and if there is anything we may need to address for pathways to the workforce i think it is important to look at. i also over the yeerbs had a lot of concerns about public access and privateization. there are ways we want to minimize how much we are trying to generate funds to private evonets that may limit public access and whether that is addressed is a concern i have and full disclosure. what i heard by a couple people was looking at extending the open space fund for number och years that allows us to have predictability around doing bonding to allow us to do expand our funds futher. those are thoughts i have and what i'll look at between now and december 10 to help make this a consensus masterpiece. we have amendments, we want to make our motions to accept? >> thank you. i had stated my amendments previously and think after hearing public comment individuals who spoke i was troy toog get at the concerns around explicitly stating focus on differed maintenance but also recognize that some of the needs can chan
