bryan llenas has more in our new york city newsroom. what's the latest, bryan, on the man who was bitten last week? >> hey, jon, good news is he's reportedly in fair condition this weekend. 61-year-old william lighten of new york was bit in his torso and legs by a shark on wednesday on cape cod in massachusetts. it's suspected the bite came from a great white shark. he was air lifted to a boston hospital. this is video of a great white shark off the coast of cape cod. this isn't video of the attack, but it goes to show you just the sheer power of these animals. lighten was reportedly swimming near a group of seals about 30 yards offshore at the time of the attack. >> you know, be vigilant. these are areas where these sharks are hunting for seals. you don't want to place yourself in a position where you could potentially be mistaken for one of their prey items. we are trying to sort out what drives the mechanics of these animals, what motivates them to do what they do. we're on the water as much as we can collecting data on these fish. >
