bryan, cbs-3, "eyewitness news". >> and staying in new jersey now, new jersey reputation for cheap gas is about to become history. the state's gas tax is going up 23 cents a gallon. governor chris christie is expected to sign the tax hike in to law. it passed by both the state assembly and senate yesterday. the measure also calls for reduction in the sales tax and a phasing out of the estate tax. new jersey's current gas tax is 14 and a half cents a gallon. it will now rise to 37 and a half sent on november 1st. money from the tax hike will fund transportation work over eight years. and drivers who we spoke to are not happy. >> i work two jobs, my son works two jobs, and i have two in college. so definitely inconvenience. >> it is bad for the people because some people can't afford it, plus not only that, economy so bad, that how are we going to afford it? >> and to give you an idea how much this will cost you, filling 115 gallons will cost you an extra $3.45. >> and, here's a look at what you will pay at the pump if you are filling up across our region. pennsylvania still has the highest prices at 2.35 for gallon of regular gas, drivers in new jersey are paying just under $2 a gallon,
