let's go to bryan scofield and 'weather first.' . a series of storm systems will continue to pound the west coast which means that clouds will thicken over las vegas tonight keeping temperatures mild. expect lows in the upper 30s and low 40s overnight with the clouds hanging around through saturday as well with highs in the mid 50s. temperatures sunday will warm further as sunshine breaks out after saturday's clouds and low 60s for the first time since before christmas. rain isn't likely as these lows despite decent low level moisture in california since they aren't very strong and will track through northern nevada into central utah. the high sierra in california will squeeze the vast majority of the moisture out of the clouds before they make it into nevada leaving relatively dry air in place at low levels with thick cloud cover at mid and higher levels. a slightly stronger system will push in for tuesday which could see a light sprinkle or two fall in the valley but those chances are spotty at best with board. the bigger story wil

adlib let's go to chief meteorologist bryan scofield and 'weather first.' another storm system is pushing onto the west coast right now bringing rain and wind to northern california and oregon. it'll basically work to throw high clouds over las vegas for thursday and friday, keeping temperatures mild but not bringing the chance for any rain just yet. temperatures will hang in the upper 50s to about 60 for the las vegas valley for thursday and friday. push into the area which will have a little more moisture and energy associated with it. that means there's a slight chance for rain showers with this weekend's storm especially saturday night as the tail end of the cold front drags through the area. ahead of the front winds will be pretty gusty with peak gusts to out of the southwest to 35mph or so with northwest winds gusting to 30mph as the front passes saturday night into sunday morning. sunday dry air will filter in behind the departing system allowing for clearer skies and cooler temperatures, with highs peaking in the mid and upper 50s sunday and monday.
