committee members have been puttering the final touches on the bryce jordan center.less than two hours dancers will take the floor. speakers need to be put in place, floor padding installed and all the details that go into the largest student run philanthropy in the world. >> hydrating the dancers, feeding the dancers, family events, events on stage, entertainment. monica and cara are from the philadelphia area. they've spent a year working behind the scenes. >> it's more than that. it's really just helping out children and their families and just from a volunteer's perspective we really put everything into it behind the scenes and we're not really well known but i kind of like that. >> i just love the work ethic and obviously i love the cause. i love this entire event. >> reporter: thon has raised $127 million since 1977. the money goes to the four diamonds fund and penn state hershey children's hospital in the fight against pediatric cancer and the they're goes with it. >> it's really indescribable. i can't think of a word to be honest. it's just so rewarding. you

the bryce jordan center here is packed. the spectators and supporters are in the stands.he sciences are being raised. the dancers are up on their feet and they are ready for their journey to raise money for pediatric cancer, the four diamonds fund and of course penn state hershey children's hospital. now, there are 700 dancers that are taking part but there are thousands of other students that make this happen. this is a year of planning to make thon actually get under way. there's all the committee members, the captains, those that help the dancers stay motivated, keep them fed. give them water. and help them to be entertained and many are from our area. we spoke with some of the dancers just a short time ago. about an hour away from getting on your feet for 46 straight hours. are you nervous? >> more excited more than anything. a little nervous but i'm ready for it. >>> i've been training for it all semester so i'm ready to go. >> i am overwhelmed with emotion. we have been talking about this weekend for the entire year, so it is unreal that it's finally here and right
