so you guys all did btecs. why did you decide that?to be a midwife, so i thought health and social care would be perfect for me because it gives a lot of experience on the health side. and that was important for you? yes. i want to go in cyber security. so one day i'll be teaching primary school children how to programme robots. the next day we would be making at led displays. was it hard ? it was a little bit but for me i found with assessments easier than sitting exams. you are doing sport, how are you assessed? the course involves things like sports psychology and nutrition. we did work experience. i did tennis coaching. you have a job interview off the back of your course. what have you been doing? i was doing a btec level three in media, video games design. we had to learn about all sorts. computer mechanics, coding, art, pretty much everything. it is a varied course. what will you do next? i'm going to northumbria university to study to become a midwife, which has always been a passion of mine. i can see the excitement on your fa

who have worked really ha rd to to birmingham, who have worked really hard to get their a—level or btecable to do that, irrespective of where the a—level grade boundaries are occurring. we're not seeing a deterioration in quality of students we are teaching. there are more unconditional offer is being made than ever before. why is that? there are more unconditional offers. at birmingham we have been doing that for over five years, so we are very experienced in what we are looking for. it is partly linked to the fact that predicted grades are becoming less accurate every year. less than a quarter of pupils receive the grades they are predicted to get. one reason we look at unconditional offers as it allows us to look at things like personal statements, references and exams as well. a look at the rounded potential of an individual student in making an offer. it is still a very small percentage of offers, less than 4% at the university of birmingham. it is part of a range of things we do at admissions to make sure we match the right students with the right universities. thank you very much
