buck sexton. thank you for being with us and thanks for sharing your expertise. >> julie: joining us now on the phone, a former nypd commander. just to bring to light, this is the third school shooting in the past seven days. the 22nd since the beginning of the year here in the united states. a suspect in this shooting at sante fe high school has been arrested. the assistant principal has been speaking with the press and giving this information. a second person has been detained. identities we don't know at this point. there was an officer at the school who was on guard. that person was shot but only clipped. minor injuries, three people in the hospital, one person under the age of 18 and eight people dead as this story develops. those numbers and facts will change. the former nypd commander with the facts i've just gone through what is your initial take on this investigation? >> once again it seems to be somebody that has a familiarity with the school. if it's a student, which is not confirmed ye

asking former cia agent, radio host buck sexton in the house. >> good to see you. kennedy: this sounds like a field day for journalingists -- journalists this white house have been cottage industries that have sproutedded and journalistic careers made in a short time because of gift that leakers and -- just keeps on giving, this is an unending stream of tidbits and stories, who benefits? >> well, what you see i think are a lot of people who are looking for a little short-term vanity boost. not thinking much about career consequences or about consequences for country. i don't think that is an over state, these leaks lead to whole news cycles, i am not talking about petty high school gossip y kind of leaks, this has plagued white house this takes energy away from policy, and more important discussions that white house should be having, this is not worth anyone's time to focus on this as we are, but they are really damaging, most recent leak has put white house on defensive, it might end up ending someone's career, and you have to wonder at what point -- kennedy: kell

former cia officer bucks sexton on all of that.s we hope this works, hope it succeeds. we hear the saber rattling. we don't know what is going on but the president will hopefully meet with him. if it's not productive, he can leave. what did you think of that? >> i think the secretary general was being polite quite honestly. it's not that north korea has failed to deliver on promises. it's that its engaged in outright and deception and lying time and time again. there's been a bipartisan legacy of being swindled by north korea with respect to its nuclear program. so going into this, everyone has to understand and i think the administration clearly does, that this is not just high stakes poker, but the odds are against us. that all said, i also think that there's some opening here and the president is right to take it, neil. that's why when people start to say, oh, well, they have gone back on their initial promise, they're looking for leverage going into the negotiation. they had to give the good faith effort up front to make it see

former nypd intel division, former cia analyst, buck sexton. talking about these meetings that are going to happen, the intel meetings, that are the result of the subpoena from devin nunes and again just to clarify, we have this list of the two meetings. devin nunes 'his name is in the first one, not on the second one but the gang of eight is in the second one. sounds like he was invited to both these meanings. people can quibble about whether or not name was included. but it sound like you will be about. buck, do you think happens? to go i think there'll be some progress but let's understand the department of justice is still going to be deciding with the fbi what is presented at the meeting. i think there will be a lot of unanswered questions afterwards. one of the big problems that the doj, fbi have to deal with is that they haven't shown a lot of good faith in the process up to this point. there is been slow rolling, stonewalling, trying to do everything possible to avoid giving information that quite frankly at this point should have been

former cia analyst, buck sexton. buck, come on. he was among four senators that was against this for valid reasons at the time. the house took it up as a resolution. didn't go anywhere. you can't have it both ways, can you? >> if you're chuck schumer you think you can. look, the iran deal withdrawal by president trump is a promise kept. i think that for people that care about constitutionalism, separation of powers, we shouldn't have a precedent that presidents can use their discretion to bind deals that don't go through the senate. that's another added benefit of this. on top of the fact that it was a bad deal. didn't deal with some issues that were clearly central to what we want with iran, which is defang what will be a nuclear state at some point in the future. north korea, by the way, saying this is no big deal, kim jong-un could very well have held on to those hostages to give him additional leverage going into this summit. i think that if he had no plans to even hear trump out, that might have been the way forward for him. a

here to explain cia officer and radio talk show host buck sexton. this seems to be a violation of the logan act, which is never prosecuted. this is really out of line, isn't it? >> i think the former secretary of state and he needs a reminder that he is in fact former is wrong on every conceivable level here. i think he is wrong on the substance, which people can disagree on but the iran deal has some fatal flaws in it. it has from the start. ballistic missiles, the sun set provisions, some of the sites that do not actually get inspections. we can disagree on that. that all said, there is also a bad faith element here. you can only have one secretary of state, one administration at a time. and for a former secretary of state to step in here, brian, and act like the shadow secretary of state really undermines the authority of the people who are supposed to be engaged in these kind of negotiations. you can't help but think that john kerry is coaching the other side here. and then as you mentioned the logan act brings in a legal aspect of it. look, we a

let's get the read from former cia analyst, buck sexton. guys that have curious violent pasts. i'm talking ant this vice chair and now the leader of the country. these are the only guys we can negotiate with. how do you think it's going to go? >> you have to go slowly, carefully and not have particularly high expectations, neil. if you're going to work with the north korean regime, you have to get a few power brokers on board besides kim jong-un. no matter how totalitarian a company may be there's an inner circle around the supreme ruler. once you get to kim young chole, what you see is somebody that have spanned multiple iterations of the kim dynasty. it's a less than 50/50 shot that this goes why think it's going to go. somebody, as you pointed out, who has been involved in shelling, sinking, doing aggressive things about south korea and who knows what on the intelligence side. so this is where we start to see that it's going to be a piece by piece process that will stretch beyond the june summit. >> neil: i see one case of lie after lie.
