number two, on the treasure island yerba buena area plan, it's really interesting to me that staff was able to put together an area plan within the space of about three weeks, i think. we had a redevelopment plan previously which i have here which i was reading until the change came along and then all of a sudden we have an area plan for us to consider. i think it's rather unprecedented that the commission and staff has never given us a real presentation and the commission has not had informational workshops specifically on the area plan itself combined with the s.u.d., which are major items for the commission to be considering, especially since the s.u.d. is set up in such a way that it takes power away from the commission which i think is not a correct way to go. also, it would have been helpful, and i think it's because of the time element, it would have been extremely helpful for us to have some kind of matrix or some kind of comparison before us that showed what was in the old redevelopment plan and its various related documents that related to land use and what-not and the new ar

people to just let you know once again that the first time that there were any developments done on buena island, there were bones of the people removed from the island and so this has always been an original site of the ancestors of the people and some of those bones are still in places like the university of california in berkeley and san francisco state university. so i'm wondering if at any time anybody has raised this issue as to, for example, a place to reburr those bones from the place -- reburr those bones from the place they came from. if you on treasure island have reached out to the people to see what their wishes and desires were for what happens. i know that the e.i.r. always says that they will go to the native american cultural -- i don't remember what the title is but -- it is really important knowing they are the original people of san francisco really trying to reach out and make sure that they are aware of what's going on. it is really difficult to follow this from afar. they were exiled from here and so we're trying to raise the issue because we want to make sure that as san

and business tonight, and a number of residents and representatives from treasure island/yerba buena island. thank you for that. i would have to disagree with those planning commissioners that are recommending recirculation of the eir. i am one of the new guys on the treasure island development authority, but some of my colleagues have been at this for at least over 10 years, maybe 12. i do not know exactly. the short time that i have been on this board, i have been briefed a very, very well. my questions have been answered. i have seen the support from not just the treasure island community, but the community of san francisco in general. i feel very good about the process that we have gone through and how this plan has been feted for years -- been vetted for years. i am very disappointed that we are not going to get 30% affordable housing. i was hoping that that would happen. because of the change in financing that was necessary to deal with the governor's proposal to eliminate redevelopment, unfortunately, the infrastructure financing districts do not raise as much money as the tax increm
