o'sullivan who i included a letter if her as my exhibit no. 3 her building mr. o'sullivan applied for a building permit and asked that the tenants there move out so he could do the construction and applying for the permit he filed a plan that didn't belong was applying for the permit those preliminaries were rescind also the reason believe that he did a quick and dirty application for there i have a black book notice from the plans were filed for this work it would have triggered that block and so the building permit would have been up for review discretionary review by the planning commission which we are in process of having another permit that mr. o'sullivan applied for go through the discretionary review process so instead of having to deal with that and doing this construction it was kind of like glossed over with the situation is with this building in order to kind of slip there the cracks with this application. >> so, now that the correct facts are in front of the the building department i believe that the electrical and plumbing permit they're associated

and character of building. we talk about the soft story, what we're talking about is generally a ground story that has less wall or other /pwraeugs to resist the lateral forces that might be imposed by the earthquake. so we're looking for something that is particularly weak or soft in this ground story. now, this is a wonderful example of what some of the residential buildings that are soft stories in san francisco look like. and the 1 thing that i would point out here is that the upper force of this building have residential units. they have not only a fair amount of wall around the exterior of the building but they also have very extensive walls in the interior and bathrooms and bedrooms and corridors and everything that has a certificate amount of brazing yea it's significantly less country /srabl in those stories. now very often, we get even a garage or storage or sometimes commercial occupancy in this ground story. that very often not only has a whole lot less perimeter wall but it often has little or no w

the building was used throughout most of its life as the mother's building until the pool was removed, the youth of the building changed in 1960, and the 70s and the early, 2000s it was used as the zoo gift shop, and some of the other activities in the zoo and it was decommissioned in the early, 2000s. here are some of the images of the mural, the top image, richard actually took these photos, the top image shows a large view of the mural and then the bottom one shows some detail images. they were all painted with egg temp ora and so on top of the building, within the west plaster is this typical of these murales during this time period. this is another one. here is some close up views of other aspects of the murals. and the conditions assessment that arg undertook, did both a survey and the photographic evidence and they had a number of consultants to pull together all of the information that we needed. the conditions assessment, ended up with immediate, short term and long term goals for building reconstruction, and the immediate is really the building, and the protect what is there
