city. this is an announcement of how we build 21st century city -- cities, how we can create communities on very busy dance streets. we know it takes a village to create a parklet. i want to thank the city department for being our partners. dpw, oewd, mta -- these acronyms refer to organizations and thousands of hours done to come up with this. three years ago, when i first came into office, a number of merchants from union square came to me and said, david, we would like to tax ourselves more. we would like to triple the size of the business improvement district. today's announcement is part of that portion of that amazing vision. i want to thank the in square business improvement district for everything you are doing to make union square one of the best attractions that san francisco has to offer. and of course, in closing, one of the most amazing aspects of this partnership happens to be our partnership with the private sector. we could not do this without the generosity of an amazing car company. i do hope in addition to seeing the audi symbol here, i do hope that we see more of them traveling th

been disturbances reported in liverpool city center and surrounding areas there with some 300 people causing buildings to be set alight, damages to local businesses in liverpool city center. also in birmingham, west midland police have made at least 100 arrests in city center and surrounding areas as well. some hundred, if not 200 or 300 people reported there in the city center causing disturbances. also some information coming out of manchester that minor scuffles have been taking place in manchester. it does seem that birmingham and bristol are where these are focused at the moment. but this scene live in buckingham show where a supermarket distribution center is alight there, as you can see . the distribution center linked to the supermarket chain. we understand that some 750 people work at the distribution center, which is called the wall tham point distribution center there. we're just trying to get a clear idea of the square footage there. but firefighters having a tremendous job to try and contain the scene there in waltham abbey. if you're wondering what has been happening in the capital, well, it has been quite hard to keep up to date wi

additional licenses include those that the contractor needs to build including his contractor's license and his city business license to run a restaurant you need a bunch of licenses. a city business license. health department issues -- is it a what is the health department issue, do you know off hand? >> they issue a permit. required to have one owner or manager certified in food safety. actually prefer that you have multiple. i think it's in your interest to have multiple. and you pay a fee and that annual fee supports them coming in and doing what it scheduled to be quarterly inspections. and they will go through and the emphasis of the inspections is food sachlt temperature and microbiological safety. i worked in many cities in this country and never worked in a city where the relationship between the restaurant community and the department of public health is as good as it is here. i think the inspectors come in and make every effort to help the restaurateur understand the violation and how to address that violation. they try to help them avoid getting a low score or come back quickly in order to verify

city and they look at small businesses. and i dare say anybody in small restaurants have some accessibility issues. it is another attempt at making your building wheelchair accessible. i am not sure which of you may be merchants and which it may be landlords. the law applies to both. and that means you were 100% liable for any barriers to access and any damages that may be associated with those barriers. there are ways you can defend yourself. with your landlord or at senate -- or a tenant, this can avoid a lot of problems later on. the inspections offer a limited attempt at bringing a civil action for damages. it does not affect the ability to bring damage claims under the symbol laws. however, most lawyers -- they will not pursue the case. so, oftentimes, it works it to stop the lawsuit before it starts if you do that inspection. they are not particularly expensive. so, it is something someone would want to do. you will get a tax credit. if you need to make changes in the structure of your premises, there are also tax credits for that. most of these cases start with a letter. a demand letter. that is usually signed not by a lawyer, but by it
