the bullhead city police department is investigating an officer-involved shooting that occurred in kingman. on thursday, september 29th at approximately 9:30 a.m., the kingman police department execd property at a residence in the 1700 block of miami avenue. initial information indicates that 53-year-old jeffrey clair cave of kingman fired a weapon toward officers and a police officer was shot. cave was also shot and later pronounced dead at the scene. the police officer was transported to a local hospital where he underwent surgery and is currently listed in serious, but stable condition. the investigation is ongoing and additional it becomes available. it is protocol to have an outside agency investigate an officer-involved shooting incident.
