look at the red bullseye. we can get more specific than just looking at the probability map. we will go to wednesday and look at the departure from normal. the further you get to the orange and red, further you are above average. san francisco doesn't tell the whole story. we have to come for a closer look. we will be near 20 degrees above average at this point by the time we get to wednesday. for perspective, what would average be for inland valleys? about 68. we'll hit 71 for warmer spots. look at the line, it will get us to the mid 80s by wednesday. that comes on a day when we updated the drought monitor. there was a subtle change in the watershed for shasta but everywhere else in the bay area stayed the same. we are seeing north bay showing up in extreme. if you look at what the soil moisture content this might tell you a better story. so many things go into that drought monitor map. this is one of them. the soil in the deep red across the state, sierra, see that deep red on the bottom, that shows you soil moisture is the lowest it's been since we started keeping records
