this is in western burkes county.uld be heading to reading by 1215:15 this one has a core 2 to 3 inches per hour. if it's a single storm that moves through like that you're okay thchlt is not a single storm thchlt is a whole cluster of storms, 1 to 2 inches per hour gradually moving into our area. the remnants of that at 1:30 up towards the lehigh valley. the biggest threat to that area is early this afternoon the threat starts probably around middle of the afternoon. we have threats at the shore too. watch this. at 5:00 we have got heavy storms with parts of south jersey with more coming in from the west. this is like wave after wave after wave. it's not just one thunderstorm that's coming through and potentially some of the heaviest activity in delaware where it is hot and it's humid as opposed to the areas up here where it's cool. it would tend to prevent severe thunderstorms but increase the risk of flooding. there is 9:00. that looks like the end of it. a couple more showers and then we are drying out for the wee

so 6:30 passing through parts of burkes county. we go through 7:30. now slicing through the suburbs. just about to philadelphia and wilmington. by 8:30 now this line is overhead. sometimes the model goes too strong. it might not be a perfect line of storms all the way through. what is likely is we have some pockets of stronger storms. continues into parts of south jersey through about 9 p.m. from 9:00 you see it as weakening. still dropping rain. this is some flood prone areas because this is where we saw some heavy rain from about 11:00 through 2:00 a.m. mostly moving offshore. the good news is this is the end of the strong to severe storm threats for at least a couple of days. we may have showers tomorrow. here temperatures 87 degrees in philadelphia. in the suburbing 84. new jersey you are at 80. upper 80s in delaware. and lehigh valley 82. you can see clouds getting dark as storms are starting to approach. i am showing you the wide picture here because there is a stark difference. new york city 69 degrees. we are at 87 degrees. and this cold air t

we'll track them this evening to see if they do head into burkes county or in chester county. those will be the places most likely to see the remnants of that. as we go through the night tonight, best chances in the lehigh valley for any showers or storms. this model was keeping us dry all the way through night. and just a few showers popping up tomorrow afternoon. so most of the day tomorrow is rain free. but it's pretty hot and it's pretty humid. there's an isolated storm on wednesday night. then thursday that's when things really get started. now the temperature has gotten up to 91 degrees so far. it may creep up a little more. but look at this. 9 at the marine that. what a difference. ocean temperature of 70 degrees. so a little bit of a break right at the beaches over the next couple of days. but you're going to need a break. we have an excessive heat watch for all the urbanized areas tr trenton down through wilmington. record temperatures expected on thursday. the heat index, the feels like temperature to 105. or maybe a little higher. late thunderstorms and most likely

we have another severe thunderstorm warning up here in burkes county. this is moving through reading at 5:33 this evening. and it's moving kind of east/southeast as well. you can see this is the warning. it's just tucked into that corner, into that western corner and that expires at 5:15 as these storms progressed east. we may see these warnings extepid into other portions of the area. the storms have popped up very quickly. you can see the heaviest rain is u here across burkes county in the lehigh valley into the poconos. we're watching that move more easterly. it's the same storms moving over the same area again and again. it's called training. we're going to wind up with flooding we are concerned about this heavy rain producing flooding. we also have these storms that are forming to the south. they are just kind of clipping the northern part of philadelphia. a lot of intense lightning as well. everything you see shaded in the light yellow is severe thunderstorm watch until 9:00. what that means is that any of these storms could turn severe before tha

another cell headed into burkes county. the first one goes to allen town at 6:27. doilz town at 7:28. the one coming towards redding look izlis like it will hit the the elevations of these are pushing up close to 40,000 feet. this is the one that is moving into allen town and that is capable of producing hail. these bright colors indicate the size of the hail and if i track the hail that would be about 6:37 into allen town. there is likely hail and possible fairly large even up to golf ball size. here we go hour by hour coming through philadelphia area 8:00 to 9:00. likely a delay at the ball game and then the storms move out. and it needs to move out because some parts of our area got blasted with rain over the last 24 hours. this is the general area. northern delaware into parts of chester and delaware counties. you can see 8:00 to 9:00 you get the heavy rain over areas that had three to seven inches of rain yesterday. that is where you have the best chance or greatest threat of some of that flooding. as we go into the day tomorrow we are not talking about heavy

we get a couple in delaware, a couple in burkes county, lehigh valley. one in mercer county and you don't have that much later in the evening. it's limited time period. it's not the only threat this week. we have another threat on thursday with another front. it feels like 89 now which is hot enough. the highest temperature today was 89. take a look at the future temperatures, the way it will feel tomorrow. by noon it is feeling like 94. 95, 96 in burlington. 5:00 feeling like mid 90s except where it might be raining. it's much cooler. and then on thursday how about this one? some places to 100 degrees or perhaps even higher than that maybe the most uncomfortable day of the season so far. so the next three days that is hot. that is likely heat wave. that 97 thursday. that is close to a record. the suburbs up to 96. another round of thunderstorms coming in on thursday generally dry weather on wednesday and then the feels like temperatures by friday is going way down. we have comfort after a few days of some real heat. >>> not as hot out in north dakota. ea

we have burkes county putting us in a moderate threat for severe storms possible across the area. flash flooding, a possibility, but a little less likely than areas farther out subpoesouth. we go to the suburbs. a moderate to high threat for severe storms possible. this would be more spotty severe storms. flash flooding is a higher potential because we're already seeing the saturated ground conditions. it doesn't take much, 1 to 2 inches in some parts of the suburbs for us to start seeing flash flooding to happen. philadelphia, delaware, south jersey at the highest threat level for severe storms and that flash flooding, which is likely in the zones. we say likely because these are the areas that have seen sop of the rain. it would not be difficult to see flooding ands rising quickly. look at the hour by hour forecast. we go through thursday evening. there's the spot thunderstorms into your friday. the rain spreading at lunchtime continuing heavy through the afternoon. and continuing heavy friday night and even early saturday. we'll talk more about this coming up. >>> we have all h
