let's take new for a closer look along the peninsula as we zoom way in you see burlingame here. they are seeing some light showers here, maybe sliding into parts of san mateo as we head in toward the next few minutes. so this is what we are going to see throughout the day. some light scattered showers showing up not a real rainout, not a washout around the bay area but got plenty of cloud and we'll see sunny breaks in between but heading out this morning, plan on a couple of showers, too. toward the afternoon, partly cloudy skies, a few more breaks of sunshine. temperatures not all that bad. 50s and low 60s toward the afternoon. not a complete washout around the bay area today but we have the moist low moving in off the pacific here all that moisture surging in along the coastline so occasionally those clouds roll on by and we get a couple of raindrops so going to keep things unsettled for today. but then after that we may catch a little bit of a break as a weak ridge sneaks into the bay area ever so briefly. temperatures today plan on about 61 degrees los gatos, 62 cupertino, a

we are monitoring this major problem along burlingame in the peninsula.insula avenue. i just spoke with chp and it's confirmed as a fatal accident north 101 three left lanes are blocked. that's according to members of the kcbs phone force. and you can see we are starting to see some yellow here on our sensors so traffic is definitely building as you pass the accident scene. it is involving a motorcycle. a couple of other vehicles. lots of activity on the scene and again, it is a fatality so this investigation may take some time so this may be how it's going to be for most of the morning on this northbound side of 101. so give yourself some extra time. use 280 as an alternate. that will help you avoid the delays along 101. elsewhere, we are not doing too badly in the east bay. so far, so good. if you are taking the eastshore freeway towards the bay bridge, vallejo all the way to the toll plaza, 30-minute ride. traffic looking good approaching the toll plaza. still very light this morning. the metering lights are off. if you are headed right now across the

san bruno police, pacifica obviously, brisbane, burlingame, hillsboro, police officers all preparing to, if need be, drive along the low-lying areas while you're in pacifica on down towards atascadero. now it's over a loud speaker that there is time for evacuates. so far what has happened, i was talking to a gentleman at pacifica pier. he received a reverse 9-1-1 call this morning and he thought it said to evacuate. then he called pacifica police and they said, no, it was just a warning saying that if you want to, you can. it's voluntary but there is a tsunami and he was told to keep an eye on hawaii and if something goes on in hawaii, it's going to be maybe similar here. take your cue from what happens in hawaii. he's waiting to see when we get reports from tsunami activity in hawaii. they're preparing five sites right now for evacuation. and they would like people in the low-lying areas if you're interested in evacuating, it's voluntary, get to the shelters by 6:00. get everything set up as fast as possible. terry mcsweeney, abc 7 news. >> thanks a lot. san mateo county voters at p
