lot of lightning strikes there and heavy rain that's moving through parts of burlington county and atlantic county. so northernantic city, southern ship bottom, if you're down there on the shore of the boardwalk, you want to get indoors. the good news here, the storms are moving very, very quickly so it shouldn't be very long if you have to duck inside. you shouldn't be waiting there very long. the same is true for parts of central delaware. look at that just south of newcastle county into kent county, a lot of lightning strikes associated with that system right there. so we've got the square posted there to let you know what we mean by severe storms. potential lightning, potential hail. 60-mile-an-hour plus winds and heavy rain all associated with these. they're very isolated, meaning may not even be raining in your neighborhood, but other places could be getting some severe weather, so if you hear rumbles of thunder and are thinking, oh, i'll be fine, get indoors and you want to stay safe. those storms should be calming down as we get closer to night fall and the unstable air mass cools off just a bit. we ar

for the northern part of burlington county, north of mount holly just to the west of new egypt.l has been the biggest concern as this is passing through. many reports of at least quarter size hail with the storm that is moving north of georgetown. 30 lightning strikes from this vantage point. as that one storm continues to lift away north of wrightstown, another one developing near willingboro, rancocas along the new jersey turnpike, 295. that's moving in the same direction as the original storm so as -- if you're drying out, expect another storm with some hail possibly and then a third now developing south of that in cherry hill so they're moving over the same locations across that part of new jersey. also in southern parts of new jersey, this storm is beginning to fire up and intensify near millville, also one south of mays landing about 10 lightning strikes in the last 15 minutes. at this point not moving towards the shore but watch this one just to the west of atlantic city and then another one potent storm not severe developing in southern chester county near oxford heading

tremendous amount of lightning, now two areas, two storms we're watching in northern atlantic county into burlingtonn county combined, almost 300 strikes in just the last 15 minutes. the last of the rain drops are moving through philadelphia, all of that will be moving offshore and then we'll be watching the temperatures. it's going to it be a steamy day today. these are rain cooled temperatures for south jersey and the jersey shore. into the 80s, then the 90s. today will be the hottest day of the heat wave that started late last week. center city, 98 degrees this afternoon, it will feel like more than 100. 97 degrees in somerton. notice the showers and thunderstorms. those aren't the morning storms. that's another round of storms for later today. 95 in chestnut hill. the suburbs in the lehigh valley will also see those storms develop after 2:00 today and then push through the areaÑi during the evening commute in philadelphia. high temperatures in the middle to upper 90s in these locations. new jersey and hamilton township, 95 degrees with the likelihood of more storms later today. look at hammonton
